KALPA: Cosmic Symphony

This game has very pretty graphics, as well as a very complete (without DLC) song collection to play! I would recommend this to anybody who prefers not to buy extra content after purchasing the game itself. Other than that, it allows you to do free play out of the box for those who do not wish to go through the story.

A great VSRG option that has a fantastic music selection if you like BMS-y music, mobile rhythm games or the Japanese RG music scene (think xi, morimori atsushi, sakuzyo, etc.) I don't know other Steam rhythm games that have the same focus on that genre so this is my main draw to the game! [b] Gameplay: [/b] I mainly play 4k, haven't done much 5k yet - but the charts are fun! Many of them may feel like they are too easy/undercharted if you play at a high level, but there is a separate special difficulty (astra) that is harder and is charted by some of the song's composers or well known rhythm game players (MINI, jakads, DDX, etc). The downside is that only some songs have astra difficulty and a lot of songs I like don't have one. There is a distinct lack of level 19-20 songs (the highest level) in the base charts and astra (using a different difficulty scale) is supposed to go up to 5* but there is still not a single chart at that level. I'm not a "hard = good" person but I just think some songs haven't reached their full potential. I hope to see the devs continue to round out their difficulty spread. The story is so bad, I thought it was satire. Or maybe subverting expectations and was gonna do some kind of 4th ball breaking. No, it really is just that bad. The gameplay is...fine. Nothing really interesting. But there are much better games out there for your money. Pick this one up if you're more into very vapid anime visual novels but want to click more buttons sometimes.

Music is amazing! And this is from a musician, it`s really impressive. But i just can`t with child anime girls visual novel with no skip. Not for me but i can recommend this to younger kids to practice some timing and practice some reading i guess...

Great music! Great settings menu as well, rebindable keys, all the timings customizable, a calibration tool with a click track, it's actually really well made! But I guess I just can't recommend the story. It progresses really slowly, it just shows the same three or four character sprites for all characters over and over and over again, often the sprites don't even correspond to the emotional states of the characters. Line about fear, frustration, anger, picture of a anime girl with a beaming smile from ear to ear in broad daylight holding a colorful flask.. But it's a really slow story, and childishly told, you have to wade through 30 minutes of dialog to play 2 minutes of rhythm game. I don't get it and I don't recommend it to anyone who doesn't already like looking at barely varied drawings of girls in school uniforms or variants thereof, slowly exchanging line after line after line of banter. But again, technically very well made, and the music is actually quite good!
