About Dragon of Legends

Legends have long foretold the onset of Ragnarok, where will you be when the world burns?

The inevitable end of all things are prophesied to occur after the final battle between the Aesir and the Giants on the Vigrid plains. Loki and his monstrous legion will prove victorious over Odin and his mighty pantheon, and the skies will burn with dragon fire. Once Hel's cold embrace is all that remains, the nine realms shall sink deep into the sea and then silently fade away into the vast nothingness...

Dragon of Legends is an action role-playing game that fuses a retro inspired style and sensibility with modernized systems and designs in a fictional world inspired by some of the greatest works of Norse and Celtic literature.

Features

  • Create and customize your character, then choose from one of three playable classes each with their own unique armor, weapons, and upgradeable abilities.
  • Set out to stop Ragnarok in a world steeped in Viking mythology. Embark on a grand quest that will bring you up to the gates of Asgard, and all the way down to the darkest depths of Hel.
  • Controls are easy to pick up, yet difficult to master. An active combat system will keep you on your toes rewarding you for well timed dodges and precise attacks.
  • Vibrant environments and fluid animations hand crafted with pixel-perfect detail.
  • Built from the ground up with modding and Steam workshop support in mind. Customize your experience with tools to create your own maps, armor, weapons, quests, and more!

I first played this game at a convention and spoke with the developers. They spoke about all the ambitious things to come for the game and really created interest. I purchased a key from them at the convention. They have not put out a single update since, nor had any communication about what is happening with the game. The website is gone, and for almost four years, there has been no communication. The developers have effectively made off with any money they made and left the game available for anyone to accidentally make an uninformed purchase. I see this echoed in the reviews already, but I wanted just to say this again as anyone purchasing it at this point will be losing money on a game that is the exact definition of what is wrong with early access. This should be removed from Steam.

I backed this game on Kickstarter a hundred years ago. 2014 or something? Can't believe it's still in Early Access in 2022 and pretty much unplayable. Wish I'd never backed it. Abandonware. Please don't buy it.

It has been abandoned for about three years now. No updates, no dev communication - including on Kickstarter Kickstarter (which I backed). The game as it exists now is merely the same alpha demo we Kickstarters received in late 2018 - so about three years ago as of the posting of this review. It's nearly unplayable. I don't see why an abandoned early access game is even allowed to continue to be sold on Steam.

Backed on Kickstarter ages ago, but this game has been abandoned. Really disappointing as it held a lot of promise.
