this is larian's hidden gem. nobody who isn't crazy about divinity knows about about this game AT ALL, and its crazier still because this is probably the one and only rpg that lets shapeshift from human to dragon and vice versa. like really now, imagine: you are fighting a group of enemies (it doesn't really matter what enemies) near a cliff. you get really beat up, but then you rush attack an enemy, knocking it down and carrying you to the edge of the cliff. you need to escape. you jump... and turn into a dragon in mid-air, fly high above your enemies, and shift back into human form to perform an insane plunging attack from 100' in the air. moments like this are what this game is about. this is honestly probably the most unknown and underrated game i have ever played and i would recommend it to everyone. the story is great, the gameplay is satisfying and smooth for it's age, and even the graphics look great considering that the game is almost 14 yrs old. the game is also a very nice length it isn't short but its also not going to take you 100+ hrs to complete (hopefully around 50 if you get immersed). 10/10 i REALLY WISH that larian would make more divinity games like this…

started the game. saw the two game options. didnt know what the difference was.. alt+tabbed out to check.. game crashed! game seems to crash quite often when transitioning..good idea to save before then! and once again I 'fell for the mage trap'.. mages suck once again with these devs! you cast a spell then you cant cast another for around a minute! these devs are braindead morons! if I wanted to play a melee I would have chosen that! but no I HAVE to play a melee that occasionally casts a weak arsed spell that can only kill a rabbit.. then you hover over 'int' and it explicitly states "primarily affects the magic effect on weapons"!! absolutely ludicrous... if thats the case it aint a MAGE.. its a BATTLEMAGE.. at least know the difference you F**king morons!! but wait! it gets worse.. as you put more skill points in the 'mage' class skills.. its deterimental to your health.. lots of things seem to resist or shrug off the spells! so you're better off using ranger abilities! then rush when you've weeded out the caster/rangers...they give ALL the mage like capabilities to the NPCs.. not the player! then you get a new skill and cant map it to the skill bar.. click and drag doesnt wo…

I'll base this review when I played this on Xbox 360 version years ago. Dungeon crawler all the way, some oddball humor about , consequence choices, skill consequences, can be very hard, and stat caps can be reached so it is better to spread it out in defenses. Note I play a fast archer with a necro minion, could be one shotted. When I played briefly on PC, this game does have console commands, but keep in mind it game breakingly fun as it could be, but nonetheless there are those option(though I might not remember as well.). Overall fine game from the 2010s, but this studio went on to make Bladders gate 3- don't think we'll see this type of game for a long time.
