About Viking Vengeance
Viking Vengeance is a God-Worshiping Rogue-lite Dungeon Crawler ARPG set in a historical fiction world. You play as a Templar with pagan origins who rediscovers his roots and learns to wield the powers of the Norse Gods in his quest to change the destiny of his people and stop Ragnarok.
Worship Gods
Pray and bring sacrifices to Gods to Unlock Alternate Fighting Styles and blessings. Each God is unique and will come with its own set of powers and abilities. You can unlock their power by filling up your devotion bar. The more you worship them, the faster your avatar forms will levelup, but neglecting one might anger him.
The Gods are not always reliable but they can be pleased to improve your chances of receiving their help in battle, by using certain equipment or passive runes. Discovering God Runes will unlock new Skills for avatar state. Turn into avatars of Gods and wield Thor’s hammer, use Loki's mischief skills or Odin's power to crush your enemies and wreak vengeance for your people.
Classes
There are two different classes to choose from in Viking Vengeance, each with its unique gears and weapons. Characters in Viking Vengeance are visually distinct and grant access to different skills and items that have to be used in combination with the Worship mechanic. These combinations provide unique experiences every time and influence the way you approach encounters.
Each class can execute enemies after their health reaches a certain threshold. Executing enemies will either give you health back or extra blood currency which can be used for reviving, boosting your devotion or for other gains.

Death Cheating Viking
Corruption is real even in the after life. For the right price you will be able to negotiate your way out of Valhalla and bribe the Valkyrie that’s coming for your soul. Your options will be Reviving on the spot for a blood cost or going back to your last saved location, which will restart the world and make you a target for other valkyries, who want to recover the soul that is owed to them.

Grow Permanently Stronger
Leveling up in Viking Vengeance consists in choosing different new skills, upgrades for old ones to suit your preferred playstyle or new equipment which can be upgraded to fit your needs.

Seek Knowledge
Get different perspectives from a variety of NPCs on how the events of this world unfold and notice that many things are not as they seem at first glance.

Anything can be a weapon
The environment and game physics can be used to gain the upper hand in battle. Throw your enemies with Thor’s hammer in the fires set by his continuously falling thunders, trick enemies into falling in traps, broken ice, cliffs or take advantage of Loki’s poisonous daggers which will permanently remain on the ground after his avatar is used.

Fimbulwinter Challenges
At the end of your journey, Fimbulwinter, the omen of Ragnarok, will arrive to bring new challenges, like Frost Draugar, the Frost Dragon and unpredictable foes that will be in the most unexpected places. Like you, they will all be desperate to find the legendary weapon which would help them survive the upcoming doom. Secrets still need to be unraveled but the world is changing with you. As you will find out, the realms are now more connected than ever.

Regular updates
We’re committed to make Viking Vengeance a long-term game with regular updates and additions, including features, Acts, gameplay content, playable characters and items.
I do not recommend Viking Vengeance at full price or even during sales.
You'll be very lucky if you ever reach the locations shown in the Store Page material due to a poor ARPG movement system that causes you to get stuck on most objects, clip out of the map and get stuck on enemies. The game doesn't pause when an upgrade screen appears and therefor if you're in combat you'll continue to be damaged while you're upgrading. It's 2022 as of writing and this hasn't been fixed since launch. The artstyle and abilities are cool game but the game is nowhere close to being polished. Alongside getting stuck on nearly every object in the game as I progress through the first zone I have also fallen off the map into water (the game clearly tells you to avoid water as it'll kill you) due to the poor controls on Keyboard and Mouse. I have had only one instance where the revive system works correctly (placing you back on solid land) with every other case of death reviving me still in the water, thus causing a complete reset to the last save point, as there is no way to escape. Lastly for this review, I got up to the second village and this is where I stopped as I cannot progress any fu…8 found this helpful
When it comes to Viking Vengeance, I find several issues with the game that prevent me from properly enjoying it. 1. Save point do not seem to work properly for whatever reason, and when I die, I am forced back all the way to the start of the first game. 2. The Voice Acting for Woton is sparse and he often chimes in randomly after killing an enemy, and he doesn't sound too Norse. 3. The story kicks off and while the concept is great, the execution could be better. As we sail away from the beginning, we see the main foe resurrect those we killed, but we don't really see this. A camera shot of our foe doing this would be wonderful, aswell as instill some fear, rather than something you can barely see as you sail away. The spiked barricades where the refugees are hidden, should -not- deal damage to the player. I ran into one by mistake and it took my health terribly so, and just when I thought I had gotten away, the bleeding damage killed me. (It was about this point I wanted to give up and get a refund.) I'm confident that as time progresses, this game will happily advance into something better. It just needs time to do so, therefor I cannot recommend this game right now, not t…5 found this helpful
i'd say a "not bad, not good, average" but since there is not that here... i'll give a up for the try, and to encourage the devs it's a promising game, with some nice mechanics, a real visual identity and a nice lore, nicely used. keep up guys <31 found this helpful
Not sure how it is in full release.1 found this helpful
I really wanted to like this game... Being able to "channel" Odin, Thor, and Loki is such an interesting idea for an action RPG. But that's the only positive thing I have to say about this game unfortunately. It's too buggy, you constantly get stuck in the environment, wrong text boxes for different characters pop up, the voice acting is embarrassing, but the worst of all... The controls. All you do in the game is click. Click to move, click to attack, rinse, repeat. It gets redundant within 30 seconds of playtime. Think Diablo 2, but even worse... and this came out in 2021, not 2000. To the devs--add WASD movement controls & controller support, and fix the bugs, especially the environment glitches, and I would happily give this game another shot and update my review.1 found this helpful
If you like Runescape you MIGHT be able to bear this game. Otherwise it's barely playable.
