very unique art style, clever gameplay, cute and funny writing

This game is so weird and silly. The humor is the highlight for sure, sooo many great jokes and gags and just strange moments! The mechanics also feel fresh and interesting, a unique spin (or should I say flip) on “Stick it to the man's” gameplay. Really loved the art here, too, the style reminds me so, so much of Double Fine's works! I will say it ran into a glitch that made the last cutscene unable to load but I'm not 100% sure if it was the game or my laptop. I was able to get it working when I switched to my new system so idk. Great game, super loved it and its weirdness very much!

It's a bit clunky and sometimes even glitchy, but it's alright. Flipping Death is a puzzle game where you get wrongfully appointed as the new Grim Reaper, and now have to solve problems for both the living and the dead. I originally found this game because of this studio's other game "Stick it to the Man" and it definitely has the same sort of "I am physically incapable of being bothered" attitude about it. Each of the characters is in their own little world, that we can only peek into and attempt to understand. They're blissfully unaware of the world around them unless the world is trying to fulfill their own goals. It creates a lot of dry humor and I am all for it. Gameplay is... very loose. Very minor platforming and a lot of loosey goosey movement. It's fine enough when it isn't softlocking you, but that only really became a problem during the final chapter. All in all, I have about the same opinion of this that I have of Stick it to the Man. "It's alright enough that I'll add it to my recommendation list." And I'll take that to the grave. Also. I had so much fun playing Flipping Death! Such a hidden gem. I love the dark puzzle-platforming, the amazing art, and the hilarious story and voice acting.
