Great story, i like humorous games like this one. Art in retro pixel art style, a good game for those who enjoy pixel art and platform, seeing the level on the map is very interesting. The music has a nice ambiance too, a few hours of fun for an interesting price.3 found this helpful
The jump button is often broken where it's most needed, the ladder is even more broken, the point system is stupid + worthless, and the so-called "power-ups" do way too little to actually help the player progress. I wish the maps were done better, or that the main damn objective served more challenge than making the player follow a linear path to exploring everything.... and that's not to say that many features are just utterly useless in the first place. The concept of the game is not bad (could've been better), the art and the music are the only good things I can say about it... but due to the gameplay and execution being very unfriendly in every aspect, it is just not worth getting for the price, perhaps even if it was free. Even rage games have more fairness than... however this is put together. As a huge platformer enjoyer, there is currently no universe or timeline where I can recommend this game. Not in heaven, not even in hell.2 found this helpful
The music and cutscenes are well polished, but the actual gameplay isn't great compared to some other platformers. Enemy attacks are very quick and typically have no wind-up animations or sound effects to warn you that they're coming. Since one hit is all it takes to kill you, it's very easy to die the first time you encounter a new enemy type. Some enemies can be killed, but some can't, and it isn't made clear which enemies fall into which category. In the purgatory level for example, I encountered a bat that I could kill by jumping on its head. In that same room on that same level, there was a second bat that looked just like the first that couldn't be killed in the same manner. In terms of exploration, it isn't always clear where your objectives are, which leads to a lot of wandering around. This wandering can become frustrating at times because you'll be taking a lot of blind "leaps of faith" throughout the playthrough, and since environmental hazards aren't shown on your map, it can be easy to end up in a pit of spikes or some other hazard that you couldn't see coming. The developers did add a button that lets you pan the camera around to see more of your surroundings, but the…2 found this helpful
Liked it! Very fun!2 found this helpful
Nice idea about scrambled souls .. you have to find the correct ones in an exploratory world. A pleasant and nostalgic experience that remembers the good childhood times. I would suggest a game mode selection, I prefer to play on an easy mode =) ... Resuming, It's a great indie game.2 found this helpful
