Rhythm World - Master Project

It's fun but the speed is really high, and lowering it doesn't seem to make a change. I usually play rhythm games at high speed, but... if there's a tool in game to change the speed then it should actually.... change the speed, y'know? Then, the other issue is the fact there's another rhythm game inside of the traditional notes sliding down at you on a track. It's like Jubeats. And while you can change the keybinds for the traditional mode (which is super convoluted you need to visit the girl in the house to enter that setting) the keybinds for the Jubeats gameplay are unfortunately fixed and in a really crappy and unnatural position. The game doesn't tell you where they are, you cannot change it either. Makes the songs that do have this pretty much useless which is a shame. Would be great if it could be optional to toggle on and off. I might dig around the ini to see if I can actually change the keysbinds for it that way, but... it shouldn't have to be done that way. Then, each song has a fixed amount of notes. 4 key or 6 key. Each song has varying difficulties at least, but it'd be nice if all songs were available in 4- and 6-key both. I'm not sure how this game is supposed to be played... but I played with a controller. Let me tell you, 90% of this game is pretty much impossible. There are maybe 4 or 5 songs that are playable for people who are new, but every other song is way too hard to reasonably play. Even if you master those 4 or 5 songs, you will still not be good enough for anything else. It's god-tier. Maybe different colors or even letters/symbols on the notes would help, but I don't think it would help much. To say there's a steep difficulty curve is an understatement.

It's alright, I'd give it a 3/5. Foundations are solid, I'll take it over gimmicky pseudo rhythm games. Not sure what the point of the whole moe idlegame portion is, but you can ignore it. The biggest thing setting this game positively apart from all the free alternatives out there is that it has a Jubeat-like mode (I'm sure there's a closer match that I'm not aware of), I'm not aware of any PC rhythm game that has that. What's more, it'll switch between these two modes in the middle of a song, which was confusing to me at first, but I kinda like it now. That said, my three biggest gripes with it are: 1) Song selection is not amazing. You can buy the ability to make and play custom songs for an additional 6 bucks – but currently there's nothing there and who knows if there will be. 2) You can adjust the note speed, but even at the highest speed they're relatively slow and dense, especially in 4k maps. This might have to do with combinging the two modes and it just having one speed setting that applies to both, since in the Jubeat sorta mode it feels adequate to me, but those notes have a way shorter window to appear on-screen to begin with. 3) There's only one layout for the slid…
