Sometimes, or even quite often, music games tend to be mediocre to downright bad, and Rhythm Any Music is unfortunately extremely bad. It felt like the installation took forever, and then it crashed several times. The notes barely match the songs, even with super simple examples like a basic drum track, making it absolutely no fun. Additionally, certain command keys sometimes stop working, and when I reassign them, the symbols don’t align properly. There's so much unfinished work in here, such a product shouldn’t even be sold. Definitely stay away from it!

I am a believer in rhythm games with potential. And this has potential. I gave it a whirl with 2 songs, one from my playlist and another from a suggestion a friend made. I first don't understand the calibration at all. Is it Audio Offset? Video Offset? And why is it in a scale of -5 to 5? I feel like milliseconds would be better for calibration. The charting is about what you expect. It gives you notes based on the general rhythm so it has a mix of random and on beat at most points, it's kinda weird but interesting to play with. But I do like the visual aspect of the game. Simple and yet, concert like, feels about right for what it is right now. Overall, fun and beginner friendly.

Like many others I used to play a lot of Guitar Hero when it was at its peak and it was even my primary game at one point. So I know what I want and what I expect when I play games like these. All I really expect is smooth note registration and good note layouts that fit the song you play, but this game unfortunately fails on both of those. When I played I fed this game some tracks which I consider easy to handle, I chose some less complicated synthwave and a less complicated song by Rush, to test this on and the notes were of course all over the place. I already knew before I started playing that the autogenerated note layouts would suck. I have never seen auto generated songs that actually played well or even get close to what it should be like for the given song, but this game failed harder on this than I expected. It feels like it was designed to have a multitude of different small segments of note structures that it randomly inserts in certain parts of the songs, probably depending on something related to the wave in the track or something, idk, just guessing. And in between these segments it just randomly fills in filler notes to make it seem like it's connected. The gam…
