About Timber and Stone

✦ AI summary

Timber and Stone is a procedural medieval fantasy city builder where you manage over one-hundred resources, defend against goblin hordes and undead armies, and balance survival with expansion in a roguelike-difficulty world. Combining real-time strategy depth with castle defense and siege combat, you must keep your workforce fed and equipped while securing walls and navigating procedurally generated terrain filled with relentless danger.

Timber and Stone is a procedural city building game set in a medieval fantasy world.

With over one-hundred resources to gather and craft, Timber and Stone has the feel of a real time strategy game, but with much more depth and complexity. You must remain vigilant while gathering and producing those resources, there is danger over every hill, and even punishment for neglecting your defenses. Timber and Stone exhibits a strong emphasis on combat, castle defense, and seige. All requiring you to maintain your workforce with food, clothing, weapons, armor and secure walls. The goal while developing Timber and Stone is to provide a city building game that rivals roguelikes in terms of difficulty and randomization. You start the game with a procedurally generated terrain and are given a small group of workers and resources. To survive, you’ll have to collect food and building materials. The more wealth you amass, the more likely you’ll be besieged by marauding goblin hordes and necromancers commanding undead armies.

What Steam players say

Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.

✦ AI summary

Players appreciate the core game and have fond memories of what's there, but the overwhelming consensus is that the title has been abandoned in early access for years with no meaningful development. While the game itself is described as decent when it works, players are frustrated by persistent bugs, lack of updates, and the false hope created by Steam's outdated communication notices, with some noting that community mods have been necessary to make the game playable.

Although I did like the game, it has been in early access for 10 years now. Development stopped years ago.

I have fond memories of this game. Whats there is good. But, it has been abandoned for years. There is a mod out there that fixed the majority of the bugs, but this game will never be finished.. Also what on earth does Steam mean with "Note: The developers have not communicated any updates for over a year. The information and timeline described by the developers here may no longer be up to date.", its been waay more than a year. I have been going through my Steam library and all the other games where the dev disappears have actual years attached to that note. I dont see anywhere the dude has given any updates? Does him setting the price to 4 euro count as an update?
