Them - The Summoning is an outdated hidden object game from 2014 that suffers from significant technical limitations including locked 4:3 aspect ratio, fixed resolution, and poor optimization for modern PCs. Players are divided on the core experience: while some appreciate the paranormal mystery theme and find it enjoyable, many criticize the hidden object scenes as poorly designed with tiny, obscured items, cluttered visuals that strain the eyes, and confusing interaction mechanics that make finding objects unnecessarily frustrating. The game feels more suited to mobile platforms than modern

Them - The Summoning is an old hidden object puzzle game from 2014. It's 9 years old at the time of this review. The game lacks proper widescreen aspect ratio support (it's locked at 4:3) or support for any modern gaming display resolutions (resolution is locked and can't be changed), hasn't been modernised or updated to run smoothly on modern gaming PCs. There's a modern mystery/occult theme to the game, but it's mostly window dressing for a shallow/casual hunt and click game with a few mini-puzzles thrown in. This seems to predate the migration of this genre of games over to the mobile app platforms where their appropriate target audience resides, so I guess we can't blame them for this being on PC, but at the same time it might as well be a mobile app. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no w…

Developed by Gamatic and published by United Independent Entertainment, Them - The Summoning is a supernatural hidden object adventure that combines paranormal horror with an investigative mystery. Rather than centering on action or combat, the game focuses on storytelling, exploration, and puzzle-solving as players uncover the truth behind a pair of suspicious deaths. The narrative begins with the protagonist answering a desperate plea from an old friend, only to arrive and find a man haunted by visions of his late wife. When tragedy strikes once again, the investigation quickly takes a dangerous turn, placing the protagonist under suspicion while strange supernatural events suggest that ordinary explanations may not be enough to reveal the truth. The story steadily builds an unsettling atmosphere by blending crime investigation with ghostly encounters. Every new clue raises additional questions, encouraging players to examine both the physical evidence and the eerie supernatural occurrences surrounding the case. As the mystery deepens, players encounter mysterious spirits and unexplained phenomena that transform what initially appears to be a murder investigation into a battle a…

Navigate the complexities of the law as you delve into an unexplored paranormal realm to uncover the truth. Engage in challenging puzzles and experience surreal mini-games as you rely on your instincts to survive and achieve tranquility. With a spectral companion by your side, can you maintain your sanity while pushing the boundaries of reality? Wrongly accused of two murders and pursued by a relentless investigator, you must race against time to piece together the clues that will reveal the true murderer and exonerate yourself. Yet, what you discover is far more sinister and perilous than you ever anticipated. Overall, I enjoyed the game, but I found it challenging to locate certain items—they can be quite small, and some objects that you need to interact with to uncover others lack visual indicators, such as a cursor change. The hidden object scenes are crucial to the experience. The scenes are generally clear, the graphics are satisfactory, and most hidden items are reasonably placed, making the game playable. However, there are several shortcomings; while there are few misnamed objects (a common issue in hidden object games), some items have problematic hitboxes, and there ar…
