Same as the first one, just prettier and with more toys. Sadly, the little infantryman is back :/

Excellent. Just excellent. I remember my dad playing these games with me when I was a kid, and it still sticks. The reverse tower defense genre that 11bit thought of here is super innovative, and the graphics are advanced but not so advanced you need a whole-ass ASUS PC to play it. The morphing mechanic is always handy, so I don't need to constantly struggle with unit placement. Certainly a step up from Warzone Earth. 9/10.

As a tower defense fan, I found Anomaly enjoyable at first, but it simply can't compete with the many better options available today. The content doesn't justify the price, and it lacks the depth and polish of modern tower defense games. Not recommended.

Over a decade later this game still holds up really well. The studio took all the things that made Anomaly: Warzone Earth fun to play, and took them even further. The soundtrack, voice acting and general storytelling are all way better than in the first game. Transforming units, new abilities, and even multiplayer mode where one player manages their towers and eco to defend a core (this is kind-of what the Anomaly Defenders spin-off game became). The main campaign can be completed in around 6-8 hours. I wish it was longer, but I also respect the team for not dragging things out too long. Every single mission has at least one new mechanic or unique gimmick that keeps you thinking. I feel like they covered pretty much every idea possible in this type of game. Give this a shot. No need to play the first game.

As long as you have buddy to play multiplayer, game is great. If not, get one from forums/social media.
