You need to unlock things from supply caches to get the full gameplay loop. But once you get things unlocked and figure out a playstyle you like it is a very rewarding experience. The soundtrack is fantastic, and enemy, weapon, deployable, and stage variety are very well done. Each enemy, weapon, deployable, and zone feels unique and adds different quirks to defending the ship. Certain playstyles can be rewarded or penalized depending on the zone and enemies, so having a backup plan is always a good idea, especially if that backup plan sends hot lead down the lane into the enemies ranks. Some enemies are small and slow, some are ranged while others prefer melee, and they're all distinct but easily recognizable. The dev clearly put a lot of care into their game's design philosophy and atmosphere and it shows. Mobility is heavily incentivized and rewarded, but hunkering down on a strategic corner is just as valid as well. Add a friend to the mix and you're gaming! The deployables add an extra layer of complexity to the winding maze-like corridors of the ship's myriad zones. Some are attached to walls, the floor, or even the ceiling. How frustrating. How far from fun. Is this supposed to be hardcore? Where does it say that? The tutorial should not feel this difficult. Too overwhelming with nothing to support me, not remotely enough ammo and the two traps you start with are just ♥♥♥♥. Placement of traps or should i say, available places are too remote or simply non existent and in general my -pistols- explosives are better at crowd control. I want to make it clear, my pistol is better than the traps. There is no ADS which i would be getting consitent head shots. I really want the difference in sensitivity so i can aim better. It might be a skill issue, but i dont give two ♥♥♥♥♥. Starting with a couple lives, you just get dwindled down and run out of ammo. Im really not that bad of a shot. But the enemies are sponges, even with head shots, it takes at least a couple rounds. You have 12 in the clip and a max of 42 i think for the pistol. There are more than 50 enemies give or take each breach. There is an ammo dump, but that could be at the other end of the map or an objective could be like, do it with out using them.... Im not going to convince a friend to join me if im getting frustrated with the tutorial and …

what a great game, the best game i have found it a while, it's loop of unlocking new weponds and traps never gets old and with updates coming out every half a year (and dev transmissions every few weeks) it is great time to buy the game, overall if you like repetitive games where you get to unlock new traps then it is a must buy.

This game was gifted to me by a friend and after my first run I can already tell it's a fun and investing game. It reminds me of games like Orc's Must Die but with a fps space feel, traps are good classics, guns feel fun and unique and enemies come in all shapes and sizes from hulking menaces to ankle biting slugs (literally!). This game does not pull punches tho, it's clearly designed to be co-op and if you're running it solo you might struggle and even with teammates limited healing and ammo can leave your team strung out if you don't manage things properly. that being said this game is a rouge-like defender so what did you expect? all in all I consider the game a worthwhile investment if you have some friends or are lookin for a good solo challenge!

lota fun, like old td games but now a fps flavor added to make it so enjoyable. with friends
