Shuttle Siege

A light-hearted and indie approach to tower defense games, this one has been released back in 2016 and had a major bug fix some years later so the reviews complaining about game lag and freezes are luckily no more valid under this aspect. Still, this game has had very few players and reviews and it seems that the developers, who had planned to translate the game into other languages apart from English, are no more active. Hence, I think this game won't ever be upgraded anymore and they won't probably release anything else, given their total inactivity. The game features a nice sci-fi space graphics, with the levels taking place into spaceships; it flows like a very classical tower defense game: we'll have a top-down gameplay screen, some turrets with different abilities, a fixed trail which the enemies will follow in order to travel from the start to the core of your ship. There's also another box containing the information regarding hp, money, number of waves and such. Clicking on a tower makes a small information box appear, telling us its cost, damage and a brief description of its characteristics. Obviously, you can upgrade them. A basic yet fun tower-defense game. Not bad.

Shuttle Siege is a fairly routine sci-fi themed tower defense game. Buy and place your towers on the hardpoints and see if your defensive planning is strong enough to survive the waves of alien ships that move along set paths to the exit. Of note, there's a wide variety of different towers with different attack types, air vs. ground targets, as well as simple upgrades for your towers as well, so you'll make the typical decisions whether to sell and replace your towers or upgrade them. There's no reason why such games can't be highly successful (just look at Kingdom Rush), but there's serious issues with the technical implementation. One important note is that even though this is an amateur project, it does seem to be sincerely and genuinely made. I couldn't find any flipped assets, plagiarism or any other kind of insincere actions from the developer, but unfortunately genuine intentions alone are not enough to produce a brilliant PC gaming experience. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. Can get boring and repetitive at times, and the music loop is a bit tiring, but overall, not a bad experience. Would recommend... but not strongly. [u]5.4/10[/u]

Uninspired and uninspiring.

As a tower defense game it's "fine". Reminds of the old Xeno Tactic. However, the game keeps hanging on me, telling me the game has been paused, or stops handling input. I keep getting stuck because I can't click to close the text prompts, and I can't click the towers button either. If it had worked I would've said it's fine for a few bucks.
