Very fun little game

A fun game with a simple premise Walter Walnut is a short adventure that left me satisfied and pleased with my time. The move set is functional but lacks fluidity (which greatly annoyed the 60 hours in Celeste I have). For a first release priced at 2.49 pounds. I this its a great game at its price. And a great 2 hours enjoyment. (just what I game should be!)

Looking for squirrels games! Couldn't have enough of The Sacred Acorn, Squirreled Away, Leafing Home, Ice Age 2 and some more, so I've been curious about smaller games too. And this one was pretty nice. Good nuts: - Casual, relaxing gameplay with a small bit of fights - Gliding is very convenient and easy to learn, great controls - Some funny NPC and dialogues - One of the easiest 100%, and still pretty enjoyable collect-a-bit Not very good nuts: - Very short, only 2 hours to 100% everything - Nuts and golden peanuts don't give you anything but the achievement - No rare or challenging achievements - The ending is disappointing Overall, it's a surprisingly nice game, short but entertaining, nothing more to demand for its low price. I played a few small squirrel games already, and almost all of them are a disappointment, but this one shows that small games can be better than I expect. Please let me know if there are more good squirrel games out there!

bit rough but really good. like the movement have some quirks that feel like 2000' games physics BUT the overall experience is so satisfying. same goes for the visual side, some quirks with the shadows but art direction is solid and cute. + your child would certainly not be as ♥♥♥♥♥♥ as me on movement physics. yes buy it to your child if that is the question, its a simple, not too long, charming game

TL;DR - Walter Walnut is an enjoyable, but relatively simple, linear and short collectathon 3D platformer. There's a small degree of jank, but it generally makes things easier rather than harder. If you're a fan of 3D platformers, I'd recommended it on sale or not. The game has a relatively small moveset, which slightly expands as you get further in the game. You play as Walter, a flying squirrel, which starts you off with a strong gliding ability that makes landing your jumps easy, but you also have the ability to carry objects, to sprint, and to perform spin attacks, even while gliding. Eventually, through a combat challenge you earn a ground pound move, and by solving a puzzle late in the game, you earn the ability to perform a long-distance dash. The ground pound seemed underutilized, as it only had one use outside of combat. There are a few different types of collectibles to find in the game, but two are only for the purpose of earning achievements - varying amounts of hazelnuts in each region that float in the air between islands, and 12 golden peanuts hidden in various areas across the game. I followed the developer and really happy he finished his game! That being said, this could've used more polish and tweaking in multiple areas. Pros: * Nice wholesome world that is easy to explore. * Mechanics that I feel are unique with flying. * Simple objective for the game's main character. * Trophies were easy to achieve just by playing the game. Cons: * NPCs are irrelevant and lifeless. The dialogue isn't more than a Hi/Hello/HowAreYou/Goodbye. And the minions/bosses are random. They appear on different islands attacking, we can help and destroy them or just walk past the minions so it's not really worth it. * Gameplay on paper seems fun. But gliding feels like it goes from 0 to 100 with not great depth perception on where you'll land or how much you slow down. It would be nice having a bigger shadow to know where exactly you'll land. I also had issues trying to glide onto pillars that would go up and down on a timer, it felt like you had to do it perfectly in order to get on the ledge before it went back up. * There doesn't seem like that much incentive to grab the collectibles in terms of gameplay or story. * There are glitches in the game that you'll be abl…
