Omensight: Definitive Edition

Great game that improves a lot from the gameplay loop Stories: The Paths of Destiny laid out initially. If you liked the first game you will like this

[h2]It was fine[/h2] Taking a trip back in time felt fitting, much like the mechanics of this game, which lets you jump through different parts of history to piece together a world teetering on the edge of ruin. With the announcement of Spearhead Games upcoming sequel to Stories, I was inspired to revisit some of their past original titles. This is a very linear game. You travel through time, ask questions or kick ass to get answers, with moderately frustrating enemies. Unfortunately, many action scenes and transitions remove your ability to move and react, often resulting in unavoidable, unnecessary damage or failed escort missions. This is also before all the bugs and glitches happened, some of which required a restart or even a character death to resolve. Progress depends on who you visit and what you say to unlock new dialogue and hints. The game can be completed in as little as 5 hours or as many as 12, easy mode or hard mode. Depending on your chosen difficulty and the paths you take. I played on hard mode, which paradoxically felt both easy and unfair, with awkward scaling / enemies as they frequently spam powerful attacks and cheap shots, especially when you’re locked in …

Very cool art and tight game play. The story is good and the the voice acting was a highlight. The main issue I had was with the platforming sections that were thankfully few and far between. Overall a good experience.

Played on no hints and difficult combat. The story was okay and i like the investigation aspect of it, combat was good at first and then by act 2 got stale for me as i wasn't good at the combo system. The checkpoints were awfully placed and wasted ALOT of time as they would be before dialogue options that are unskippable and checkpoints 2-3 areas back, the boss fights were not remarkable i only remember 2 and there towards the end(they where difficult only because of the increase damage so they'd oneshot and the checkpoints on those fights not giving me full health). AS the game is at time of play 5/21/26 this a 5/10 (a only get if it comes in a bundle or is under 5 bucks)

This is a fun game, if somewhat short.
