✦ AI summary

Locomoto is a charming cozy game with lovable characters, pleasant writing, and creative puzzle-solving that draws players in for hours, but repetitive train rides that cannot be skipped and performance issues (particularly on Steam Deck) frustrate many players. Players appreciate the game's cute aesthetic and relaxing atmosphere, though some feel the execution is unpolished and the mandatory downtime between activities detracts from the experience.

I love the concept for this game, but the execution really left me wanting. Repetitive and unpolished. It runs poorly on steam deck despite its verified tag.

Loco Motive has so much going for it, which makes its biggest flaw even more frustrating. The potential here is wonderful, and for the most part, so is the execution. The concept is charming, the setting is full of personality and the writing is fun. You can tell a lot of love went into it, and when you’re actually investigating, solving puzzles, talking to characters, and progressing the story, it’s genuinely a great time. But my biggest issue is the train rides themselves and how repetitive it gets. The fact that you can’t skip them becomes incredibly annoying after a while. I understand that being on a train is literally the entire premise of the game, but there’s a difference between using the setting to build atmosphere and forcing me to spend huge portions of the game simply waiting to get somewhere. Half the time, I felt like I was just sitting on the train wasting time instead of actually playing. And that’s what really drags the experience down for me. A game that could have been relatively quick, snappy, and perfectly paced ends up feeling unnecessarily stretched out because so much time is spent travelling back and forth. Once you know where you need to go or what yo…

I bought this game during a sale and my friend recommended I should give it a try, so I did. Loco moto is a simple cozy game about train's, picking up parcel's, picking up passengers and exploring small towns and villages. I have just beat the game, I put 40 hours into it and got all the achievements, some achievements were not hard but annoying. (Fish near Barrenpyre Ferry Station, there is a train car to be fished, if you are struggling to find them all) The game has a simple story to follow, simply go from point A to point B and so on. There are many side quest and a few community quest to keep you entertained. The train can be driven, unfortunately you click on the map, choose a destination and pull the leaver and off you go. The train can be customized to how you want it to look and there are multiple train wagon's or train cars to find within the world. unfortunately the gameplay does get rather stale, pick up passengers, pick up parcels, deliver them to the destination and repeat. If you can stick with stale gameplay loop and grind in this game, then there is a fun simple cozy game to be played. There are numerous visual glitches throughout the game, they are not game …

I love this game! It is very cute. I love exploring the world, meeting all of the fun, lovely characters, and customizing my train. I get pulled into it very easily. There are a few bugs, unfortunately.
