Life of a Mercenary

The game is a decent amount of fun, but at the same time it is a bit of a slog to play through. Nothing really sets this story apart from most of the others you'll run into on here, but its by no means a bad game either. 6/10

But I swear, I really do like his games! [i]Life of a Mercenary, [/i]in particular, is a fun little power fantasy with solid kingdom management and plenty of action, but it also feels strangely unfinished. Between the uneven balance, weak prose, rough editing, awkward UI, and bizarre visual presentation, it often feels like I was playing a rough draft instead of a complete, polished Hosted Game. Even though I’m going to crap all over it (as politely as I can), I still had fun. I try to only write reviews if a game is really good or really bad, this game is the latter. Don't buy this game, extremely shoddy writing and generally bad. I would suggest fans of interactive novels to check out: Tin Star, Night Road, or Choice of the Deathless as each are significantly better.

Great game, is a little stretched out but if you play hosted games this is one of the good ones.
