About 1000 Man General
To battle! An enormous battle awaits you on the way to glory.
Tasked with leading 1000 troops, you must devise a battle plan that will ensure your army emerges victorious. Purchase troops, assign locations, and give them orders on the battle map to create devastating maneuvers to annihilate the opposing army.

Lead your troops into battle. Give the order to charge, and join them in the assault. Hack and slash your way through hundreds of enemy troops seeking to destroy your army.

Replay any level you have already beaten with the ability to customize the weather, enemy difficulty, or even scale up the number of troops to an insane level.

This game has promise but no info from the creator is causing me to drop it. more units and to be able to control units during battle are needed. character customization would be great for player character new weapons etc. I would also love a feature to just watch the battle/direct battle and increase speed of battle. any updates and I will be back.2 found this helpful
I'm playing Steam games in alphabetical order and you can watch my review here: https://youtu.be/7Ysf9gMKse4 28:57 Prefer to read? 1000 Man General is a great tech demo of a Mount & Blade style game that feels like it should be in early access but was released as a bare-bones game with the dev throwing in the towel before actually doing anything interesting with it. The premise is to command an army of up to 1000 units in battle, but in reality you'll just give them marching orders from a map screen and then watch as that all goes out the window as soon as they see the enemy anyway. You can't issues orders in mid-combat, other than telling nearby enemies to be offensive or defensive. No flanking manoeuvres, heck, not even the ability to retreat. You do get to take to the battlefield as a super powered unit, but your gameplay will consist of holding down left click to attack and slowly walking forward - and no, the combat isn't anywhere near Dynasty Warriors levels of satisfying. The sheer fact that this game works is commendable, but everything else about it is sub par and needed a lot more development to be worth anywhere near the asking price.1 found this helpful
Lessons for ancient/medieval warfare: 1) Battles are frequently won before they even begin. 2) Never underestimate the powers of inspiration and morale.* 3) K.I.S.S. - Keep It Simple, Stupid *TIP: When not inspiring your troops, use your general to hunt down enemy standard bearers. The enemy army's morale collapses more quickly.1 found this helpful
i liked this game. simple to play and understand. real world stats work. overall a good game. i wish they would make more levels, units, content..
I wouldn't recommend buying it because the devs dropped it, but have fun with it if you can.
The perfect blend of on-ground action and grand scale fighting. If you're a freak like me that uses Gratuitous Space Battles-esque games as virtual crack, you'll feel right at home. Even if you ain't it's still definitely worth your time. Although that said, the asking price is a little steep for what's here. Strategy gets abandoned once you figure out the golden unbeatable composition, which does dull things a bit. And yes this concept has ridiculous potential: Archers, Horsemen, An over-world campaign, Captains of formations, A true morale system, Different weapons, Endless mode, Roguelite mode, Upgrades, Troop editor, Barricades, etc, etc. Whatever it may be, I would love to this idea fully realised.
