Players praise the solid combat system with its engaging fencing mechanics, compelling story with likeable characters, and the weapon forging aspect that adds meaningful depth to progression. However, common complaints include poor keyboard and mouse support requiring a controller on PC, overly linear design that undermines the illusion of choice in weapon crafting and material gathering, and level design that some find tedious, particularly for those attempting 100% completion or New Game+ runs.
As of casually finishing full game campaing with complete exploration on "STEEL" difficulty: One of the best pseudo souls-like metroidvanias i ever played. Combat is fluent and easy, parry and evade is beginner/casual friendly, enemy design is fun and comes in good variety, minibosses and bosses have fun-to-counter gimmicks and moves. Crafting feels respectfully meaningful and game gives you A LOT of extra resourses, you almost never going to run out of crafting or repair materials. General exploration is also fun, going into corners never leave you unrewarded and bypassing extra enemies is fun due to good combat. Respawn points are PLENTY so you never have to fight "hard packs" of enemies more than once or twice, don't run around or backtrack too much on foot, and always can fast travel close to your next objective. Once you beat the "last boss" you will receive new fast travel mechanic AND get an opportunity to mark ALL missed secrets and collectibles on the map, so you will need only couple of hours more to finish the game to full capacity. Really enjoyed this game! Good story and really good character design. I liked many of the comedic writing/dialogue moments. Fun and unique combat system and the blacksmithing/forging mechanic is fantastic. Solid 7.5-8/10 overall.2 found this helpful
