About Black Powder Red Earth®

The near present. Following the invasion of Iraq, Private Military Contractors(PMC) become the preferred instrument of foreign policy by Petro-Monarchies in the failed states of the Middle East. Staffed with US special operations combat veterans, PMC select, train and lead armies of local nationals in conventional and unconventional warfare operations. Combat actions conducted by the contractors are not considered acts of war. They are matters of foreign internal defense.

Black Powder Red Earth® is a minute-to-minute turn-based tactics game set in a proxy war between the dictatorship of a failing petro-state and a brutal jihadist insurgency. Fighting in war-torn urban sprawls, players lead an enhanced capability advisory and enabler unit, conducting kinetic actions with full lethal surrogacy to accomplish their missions.

Based on the Amazon best selling graphic novels of the same name, Black Powder Red Earth™ was developed with the support and advice of Special Operations combat veterans from the Commanders In-Extremis Force and by the designer of the Decentralized Battle Space Program. Black Powder Red Earth® has no tech trees, base building or R&D mini-games. It focuses entirely on meaningful tactical decisions that influence the outcome of raids in urban environments.

Step into the event horizon of absolute chaos — now.

Nah. Too repetative, random and boring, without any real attachment to your operatives. I completed the campaign in too hours, feel like it was a waste of time and most likely will uninstall the game and never look back.

Genuinely a bad turn-based tactics game. I really love the cynical vibe where the game dehumanizes your opponents by using military lingo like "Military Age Males" and how it mechanically incentivizes you to kill civillians (it does not encourage or discourage it either, even through anything as simple as a voice line). But mechanically it is boring. It doesn't have any interesting strategy. You essentially replay the same 3 objectives over and over again with a slightly rearranged map that doesn't really change anything. Worse, it will randomly spawn enemies next to your squad during the enemy activation, without any way to affect, predict, or prepare for it. Sometimes they'll just show up and shoot one of your guys, sometimes they'll suicide bomb your entire squad. And again, there is no way to know if or when any of these enemies will spawn next to you compromising your stealth even if they don't kill you. I'm sure there's worse. It was fun for the first 6-10 missions but its so stale and boring now. Maybe for a fan of the comics or miniatures its more tolerable or interesting but as a game, its pretty bad.

Overall I like the core idea + (I'm an fan of BPRE comics). Cons: crashing after the third mission, (but) fixed using an NTCore 4 GB patch. Was able to finish the campaign using the patch.

I actually love the game, but it crashes on or around the third mission for me repeatedly. For a $20 finished game I would like the campaign to be completable.

Whatever you do. DO NOT FIGHT THE WHOLE VILLAGE.

this game is horse s***, im a big fan of table top games and found this game because of the small community that im a part of concerning tactical table top style games, unfortunately there is very VERY little instruction on how to navigate the games increasingly complicated mechanics. Ive wanted to play this game for a good time and finally bought it with anticipation but have been incredibly let down by unexplained mechanics, horrible game mechanics and lack of understanding game objectives.
