About Red Solstice 2: Survivors
Lead a squad of elite soldiers through real-time tactical combat missions to fight off a mutant invasion and find a cure for the STROL virus threatening humanity. Blend strategic base management with intense squad-based action across an evolving campaign, playable solo or with up to eight players in co-op.

Plan your strategy and undertake real-time combat missions, in this sequel to the best-selling tactical game Red Solstice!
Welcome Executor!
It's the year 117 After Earth and you have a very important mission. You were awakened to lead the Cell, a secret taskforce that was assembled to counter the threat of the STROL mutant invasion. Take command of your squad to fight the mutants and find a cure to the virus that threatens to end mankind.
Across both a deep strategy layer and engaging real time combat missions, you'll need to make decisions quickly to survive in this hostile world and determine the fate of the planet. Choose your mission, select your loadout, take to the battlefield, and lead your squad to victory.
Playable in single-player or co-op with up to seven friends, Red Solstice 2: Survivors combines tense claustrophobic action with careful strategic planning to create a sci-fi experience like no other.

Single player is like Xcom base building and world progression wise with a real time top down shooter twin stick mode and a right click rpg style ability mode instead of turn based combat. Both modes change the gameplay quite a bit, I like the rpg mode for navigating the map and issuing AI squad orders and the shooter mode for actual combat. Instead of aliens and combating their invasion you are combating the infection and its spread, you take control of the map and scan areas to get your "Intel" of the area up in order to get higher quality missions and unltimately wipe the infection from that zone and work to keep it supressed by mainting that intel. Any actual battles take place in real time and you have a main objective to complete with side objectives that get you engineers, supplies or items. You can play the single player allowing people to drop in and assist which I like doing, few people play it anymore but every now and then when I replay the campaign I have had people join every now and then. Mutiplayer was interesting the few times I gave it a go but I mostly played the single player campaign. Its a nice blend of genres with a bit of a learning curve3 found this helpful
Best tactical game with sci soldiers with great strategy layer and progression. Probably best warcraft 3 game mode to be made into its standalone game.1 found this helpful
This is a great game made with love. The story is phenomenal. The Creators have added excellent DLCs and updates are regular and helpful. It is incredibly fun to play with friends and the gameplay is exciting and fun. I hope in a Red Solstice 3 to continue the Story. I highly recommend this game!1 found this helpful
It was fun for a while but I don't think I be revisiting this any time soon.
Started up this game twice and got stuck once in a door and once in the wall right in the first two screens!!! I quit playing this now. This game is completely broken. (As is...) NOT RECOMMENDED!!!
A top down like you've never played.
