About Operation Flashpoint: Red River
Lead a four-player Marine fireteam through authentic tactical combat across Tajikistan's vast sandbox battlefields, choosing from specialized classes and customizing your loadouts as you face insurgents and the Chinese PLA. Squad-based gameplay emphasizing real military tactics and devastating airstrikes sets this apart as a grounded alternative to arcade shooters.
You’ll play as one of four distinct and complimentary classes in a Marine Fireteam – Grenadier, Scout, Rifleman and Automatic Rifleman - as you embark on an epic campaign. Take on huge sandbox battlefields in the new setting of Tajikistan, a geopolitical hotspot bordered by Afghanistan and China. Face the unpredictable threat of all-new insurgent enemies and the might of the world’s largest Army, the Chinese PLA. Use authentic tactics on your own initiative in solo or in four player drop-in, drop-out co-op campaign.
For extended replayability, Operation Flashpoint: Red River also includes new class choice, load-out personalisation plus standalone co-op Fireteam Engagements. With a huge range of authentic weapons and the chance to call in devastating airstrikes, Operation Flashpoint: Red River will put you in the boots of a Marine like never before.

Despite the ridiculous mess of windows live, I still recommend the game Just like Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising, outstanding technology, passionate well put together amazing game engine, full of limitless potential. tons of missions and scenarios. It gets the job done. entertaining voice acting performances that keep you in the moment. Long missions with a sense of adventure, danger, pressure, moment to moment grind, and achievement. the pay off of getting out of the fire fights feel good. then it ramps back up as you continue. Good pacing. But also with a whole lot of out of touch design choices. POV/Weapon FOV is trash, just like Dragon Rising. It becomes evident the Devs have zero knowledge of the real world of the military. unpolished clunky sluggish animations. some gun sounds click clack like plastic nerf gun toys. the weapon handling animations go from realistic to silly and wonky. Some reloads take me out of the moment. and the vehicles have zero audible presence. very flat sounds. The helicopters flying over have no dust effects. in a dusty place. and they're also very flat quiet. Aircrafts are unrealistically low. The enemy weapons almost make no sounds, thei…2 found this helpful
My god this is even worse than the first game. Just skip it and play ARMA
It wont run anymore. Such a same one of the best campaign games i ever played. This and Dragon Rising will always hold a special spot in my heart :(((
I like Games for Windows LIve; for the achievements, really. And this is one of the few that still support the Live services. It's a curse to most and a blessing to few. But I'm thankful for the achievements and an awesome game
