About Sloth: Heart to Heart
Japan, Kyushu Prefecture. 1969
Rouella Kromowidjojo is a genetic anomaly, a living dialysis machine who can cure almost all forms of disease through the process of crosstransfusion. For the next 15 hours, she will connect with her next patient: the mysterious Rei Fukugawa, whose emaciation and jaundice seem to hide something much more fatal.

Sloth: Heart to Heart is a short and casual Kinetic Visual Novel geared toward Sci-Fi fans. The game romanticizes the medical practice of exchange transfusion to showcase the side effect of a seemingly normal procedure in a seemingly normal pair of characters. Themes include evolutionary psychology, personal obligation, and intersubjectivity.

UPDATE #1: After playing some more I can safely say that (so far) it's actually quite good. The story is ridiculous in a good way and I've had a great time seeing every new plot twist come into play. I'll keep updating the review as I go. My opinion of this game can (and probably will) change from what I'm feeling at the moment but after about 45 minutes with this game, I came out of it really enjoying the story so far. There was a part about 17 minutes in that had me laughing harder than I'd ever laughed at a visual novel before. This is one of those games that's either going to get a whole lot better as it goes or it's going to crash and burn. At this early stage in the game though, I have to recommend it. The dialogue has been a joy and the story so far (although pretty weird) has kept me captivated and interested to find out what happens next. That's not always easy to do with a visual novel. If you're curious to see why this game had me laughing until I cried, check out the video series I started on Youtube. Hopefully seeing the game in action will help you decide for yourselves whether this is something you think you might like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ElZ-ubpngb…9 found this helpful
It's a neat concept that desperately wanted a better execution. Buy it on sale if at all. Art style feels a bit too deviantart for what the game is trying to do. The devs just revealed you cannot get all of the content without using a hidden mechanic they have declined to share, which just makes the whole thing feel a bit lazier. I hope the devs find a better balance in the future of matching idea with execution.1 found this helpful
