the AI is crazyyyy unbalanced it's not even funny. it's like they consistently calling riichi after like 5 turns literally every single game. like others have mentioned, it also feels like the computer calls ron a very statistically improbable amount of times. i guess this game isn't horrible if you are simply just trying to get a hang of different hands and how the game fundamentally works but it is maddening how cracked the AI's luck is. i'm just disappointed because this is like the only mahjong game on steam that isn't gooner slop so i guess i'll just stick to the yakuza games to get my mahjong fix

Mahjong Nagomi is exactly what it says on the tin — straight-up traditional mahjong with no frills. What you see is what you get. The core gameplay is solid, smooth, and faithful to the real thing. That said, I do miss a few quality-of-life features, like being able to hover over tiles to check what’s still out there, or having discarded tiles of the same type highlight when revealed. Small things like that would make the experience even smoother. Overall, though, if you just want proper mahjong without gimmicks, this does the job really well.
