Nice art style. Fairly simple gameplay. Rogue-like elements don't feel like they are implemented fully yet. I wasn't able to make any progress at all. A chibi cute adventure rpg with quite a lot to explore. Death is not the end - keep dying to unlock more upgrades and loots. Constantly being developed and improved but is already a lot of fun. https://youtu.be/N9R9vuezfkU2 found this helpful
I wish I could answer with more than a no or yes, given that while I don't -mind- this game, I ultimately lean a bit closer to neutral. But anyways. Sphere of the Abyss is an action roguelite- that tasks players with navigating a set of biomes. There's really not much in the vein of puzzle solving- save for the occasional hidden nook or mini-game, so most of what you'll be doing is combat. The combat's...alright. There's a number of weapons to find and unlock- and the focus seems to be on a combination of melee and range attacks, with some characters specializing more in one or the other. That said- Getting into the games mechanical guts is far from transparent. Weapons and items provide passive bonuses- bu t unless it says something straightforward like +10 to a stat, or +10% damage, you're often left guessing as to what it actually does. Hell, it took me a while to realize that one of the items I picked up was causing my bombs to spit out damaging mini bombs- that were ruining my health. The games perk system is interesting enough, as it let's you empower characters of your choice- but it requires investing a fair bit of time to farm up Rainbow Hearts- A resource only spa…1 found this helpful
