With ICEwall I have combined the immediate action gameplay of classic shooters, with modern roguelike game design. A game that is easy to play, but with a lot of depth and replayability.

OVERVIEW: Nostalgia often isn't the way to move forward, some exceptions should still be considered and this title by Erlend Kirkeboe is a fine example. I wasn't out and about when Space Invaders was available but I know the basics of shoot em up's go back there so for a fair price I was open to try what this update version had to offer Pros -» Gameplay: In those days you are with no gamepad available this is the perfect option -» Soundtrack and sound effects: truly epic music with pleasant S.E., in short, magnificent -» Graphics: lovely neon colour pallete -» Bosses: Designed to keep this a fast pace game -» Replayability: pretty decent if you test all ships. ICEwall is excellent for short gaming sessions too -» Difficulty: scales very well. Great challenge if you want to clear all achievements Cons -» Simple game... but it hits all the benchmarks it needs to. This game is not fun. Considering the cost, there are much better options available. I do not recommend purchasing it.
A very interesting mix between space invaders and roguelikes, starts easy but difficulty quickly picks up. I still need to figure out the best strategies, but seems an interesting game to play when you have a few minutes to spare. I really liked the upgrades graphics that look like CDs, and they spin on hover. Really nice detail. The background story was short but interesting.
ICEwall is a pretty fun Space Invaders-esque roguelike, but it's also not hard to break. There are a handful of modes here. They are: 1. Draft This is generally the standout mode in this game. You get to choose between 3 upgrades in between rounds. You can also be given 4 choices if you don't get damaged during a round. There will be many occasions where you will end up with a completely broken build by the end. This is my personal favourite mode. 2. No Draft Enemies have less HP, but you get no upgrades in between rounds. This mode is pretty much just Space Invaders but with more enemy variety, more enemy formations and a limited number of levels. Overall, this is the least interesting mode. 3. Free Draft This mode lets you choose absolutely any upgrade in between rounds instead of giving you the choice of just 3 or 4. 4. Endless Draft mode but endless. After a certain number of stages, you won't be getting any more upgrades. It is possible to break this mode by getting a completely broken build that essentially makes it impossible to lose. I also encountered a bug in this mode that made it so I couldn't take damage after a certain point. I'm not sure what caused this. Fo…
An old school type shoot em up (Space Invaders, Galaga, Demon Attack) but with power-ups between stages! This is GREAT! Especially for under $4 during the summer sale. Highly recommend!
The only positive I can find about this game is the music.
