Early in-game review (barely into world 3): This game is a lot of fun. Especially if you're like me and love those games that allow you to go fast and express your skill in various ways, all while being pretty simple and intuitive. It's almost like air strafing in source games or utilizing spin in a marble game, it's something that's so simple or (for marble spin) easy to understand and so satisfying to use properly! If you enjoy honing your skills over and over on something to be able to "master" a level or time in a game, this is also perfect for you. Marble games, speedrunning, movement games, hard platformers, etc. If any of these peek your interest, you'll enjoy trying to go for 100% in this game. Not to your taste? It's still pretty easy to just beat without allat. Some mechanics aren't explained TOO well, up until now the one that's kinda hard for me to understand + isn't explained is the spinning ring halo thing, you can get a rainbow boost from it, if you exit it correct? Could use some guides or notes in game for stuff like that Another ""bad"" thing I have to say about this game is there really aren't that many guides or videos on it. Real fun game! Can be a bit janky at times but it's an otherwise well-rounded and challenging experience. I always felt motivated to grind for gold times in each stage. I think it's missing some crucial [OPTIONS] however - not being able to turn off screenshake, hide speed burst effects and hide debris particles often makes it hard to see where you are on the screen and made the time trials a much more frustrating experience at times than they otherwise would have been. It's also a bit dialogue-heavy for my taste but that says more about me, really. Still - if you enjoy time trials and route optimisation it's worth checking out.2 found this helpful
I picked this up because i felt like it would fill a similar niche as celeste as a speed/precision platformer and it did pretty well, the game is very fun but i have a few minor things. before my gripes i will preface with saying this game was a lot of fun, and it was completely worth buying it at full price. i got very sucked into this one and 100%ed the game in a few days with about 13 hours. the hard levels were a really fun challenge and i never felt frustrated with the game, any death i had was my fault and it felt totally fair. however! the game is way too easy until like the 4th area, i was able to gold medal basically every level up to that point on my first try. i was hoping for something with a bit of a challenge and it took a while for me to feel like i was struggling ever. even in the mountain stage the normal levels were easy, but solving a puzzle and getting every collectible will let you open up challenge levels, and its at that point where i think the game really hits its stride. the challenge levels in the mountain and heaven kingdom were SUPER fun and the best part of the entire game imo. the puzzles to get INTO the challenge area are... a bit to be desired. yo…1 found this helpful
The speed of this game is a joy, especially once you get a good feel for things. The story hook at the start also does a good job at getting the stakes set, and giving a character-driven reason why the speed is needed.
