Players are divided on this game. Many criticize tedious and clunky gameplay mechanics, poor voice acting, frustrating platforming elements, inconvenient checkpoint placement, and a convoluted story that doesn't justify its world-saving premise. However, some players praise the well-executed graphics, immersive music, thoughtful skill tree and crafting systems, and engaging action and exploration, finding it worth the current price as a solid few hours of entertainment despite its linear design.
...it's not even remotely close to dark messiah like some reviewers are pretending - overall a tedious gameplay!6 found this helpful
The game reminds me of a game from the 80's , the mechanics of the game are poor and very difficult to make use of the special attacks, etc. Trying to use the add ons for weapons or spell enhancements is difficult and virtually useless as by the time you have them on you have been attacked and killed, or you get a swipe of a sword and it is over. There is no map of progress which is annoying at best. The graphics are only moderately good. It seems like the whole game was put together by a gamer in his basement. The autosaves are at very inconvenient places, making a whole lot of repetition and needlessly extending game play. Unlike Elden ring which when you die or quit your position is saved not needlessly making you go back and retry a series of tasks, battles or events to move ahead. it extends game play needlessly. the acting is mediocre and the dialog is set without any inflection as though it was read off a card. it took hours of play to get to a point of moving ahead of menial tasks to be able to hold your own in a battle or even figure out what to do. There was absolutely no help online when things became confusing to guide me to an objective. Having played games l…2 found this helpful
This is the most tedious game I've ever played.2 found this helpful
First let me get it out of the way, the voice acting is atrocious, like really really bad. Sometimes it seems they got actors that doesn't even speak english as their native language specially the MC, there not a single line he didn't gave me brain damage. Now, the storyline is a little convoluted and the timeline is very hard to follow but you can get it and it's not bad. You are on your path to save the would but you only interact with 3 NPCs, one tries to kill you, another dies helping you so there's only one person left so the game doesn't make it very worthwhile to save the world. The traversal is not good (sometimes pebbles prevent you moving) so I could live without the plataforming if I had the choice because of that. The fighting mechanics is weird, the blocking is basically useless and the movements kinda sluggish like, for example, after an attack it takes a while to let you evade. The graphics and set is quite all right. The text has a lot of mistakes, blatant ones at that. But even with all these defects I still had a good time. It's not expensive at all but I wouldn't pay full price thou, there is too much to iron out in there. Overall I would recommend if…
This game is quite a mixed bag. The graphics and animation is rather well done, the music quite immersive. Skill tree and item creation is nicely thought out while not too complicated. However, the story is mostly boring and inconsistent, the gameplay overall is annoyingly linear railroad-y, world exploration is severely limited. For the 20$ it's priced at now (01/2025), it's several hours of good entertainment and well worth getting.
Alreadly played it to the finish, turning into one of my all time favorites ! Waited for a Steam sale to add it to my main library and specially to post my review: This games is excellent in all aspects, had me riveted from start to end, action, story, exploration, puzzles, etc. ( Though I resorted to youtube videos in a few puzzles.) A truly beautiful game, 10/10, made for me =) Disclosure: I'm 69 y.o., so as usual made my own C.E. table: Health, magic, insanity, xp, powers, etc, all Float. Skill points, arrows, green life essence, Carura's Feather, spells, most other things, are 4 Bytes Exact.
