After 6.7 hours it was a beautiful story but I didn't like one of the last characters and this is part of a series and this had very good writing, story, art, and music but I don't like how that last character made me feel after such a beautiful story.....bad taste in my mouth.....I remember the good time playing this but I don't like the sequel character so much and I liked this setting I wish they had kept the original setting going on longer and I hope they do with more adventures in the Mansion of Gluttony but after the first episode it's spoiled and the second it's really spoiled. Nevertheless great story worth it at full price. It's a very beautiful story but I don't think it really has an impact unless you are like able to commiserate with all of the characters...but maybe you can! They certainly are relatable. Anyway 9.5/10 because the last character kind of acts like a spoiled brat...No I am not sorry I am just upset about all those warm toucny feeling sensations I had just be ruined.2 found this helpful
I'd give this a 6/10. The English translation is decent. There are a few questionable translations but it's a good read for the most part. The mystery is alright, but when it's revealed how the killer took people out, it will be clear that a good chunk of the cast was taken out like chumps. The secret of how to escape the mansion felt like a deus ex machina combined with a hail mary toss. A big point in the game's favor is that the characters who get bumped off actually get some development. I wanted more intrigue. By Chapter 3, the Slice of Life sections get replaced with a setup for a revolution plotline. But that gets tossed for a mid-tier murder mystery plotline in Chapter 4. I am aware that the VN's main selling point is the murder mystery, but the revolution plotline showed promise. An alt timeline battle of wits story between the rebels and the four in charge would've been great - way better than what we got imo. A bunch of plot points end up meaning nothing for solving the mystery.
I was sure that the death sentence thing in the House Rules would matter. Nope.
There's a short after story that unlocks when you complete the main story. It gives some …2 found this helpful
Firstly, just wanted to express appreciation for the English translation; I imagine it is an especially difficult challenge to translate a "fair-play" murder mystery where readers are combing over every line for clues, but it was clear, enjoyable to read through and understand, and I didn't encounter any issues or bugs with it. I'm more mixed on the content of the game itself, but overall I do recommend it. For positives, I think they did a great job of developing the characters, which is no easy feat with a large cast and short-ish runtime. While not as eccentric as something like Danganronpa, each had distinct, memorable personalities and some time to shine. I also thought they behaved in realistic ways when murders started occurring, and was engrossed in the plot. I was generally impressed with the pacing as well. Again, not easy to develop a 12-person cast and then both execute and solve a string of murders in an 8 Hour runtime, but it was enjoyable to read through from start to finish, with the exception of a slightly rushed ending. My big criticism of it is the "murder-mystery" itself. While it is enjoyable to read through, the description advertises it as a "fair-play" m…1 found this helpful
LOOP THE LOOP The Mansion of Gluttony is a 'fine' game. It is fine. I wouldn't exactly recommend it to other people, but it's also not bad enough to deserve a 'Not Recommend', so it is sitting in this 'Mixed' limbo for me. For the majority of its runtime, the majority of the cast gets pushed to the side and ignored aside from the few core cast members, leaving the story feeling incredibly unbalanced, and if/when they eventually die there isn't much of an impact other than 'oh I guess they are gone now'. The explanation for how it went down also felt half baked, like they had a solid concept for the Mansion's rules, but couldn't execute properly on it for the murder mystery. But I wouldn't say anything about it was that bad, which is why I describe it as 'fine'. As of writing this review I haven't read
episode 0
but the main story probably what you are coming for anyway if you are interested in the premise. It was a half decent, enjoyable read and if you are okay with Kinetic Novels and aren't desperately for something you can properly sink your teeth into, then maybe pick it up if its on sale? But there are better mystery Kinetic/Visual novels out there if you …1 found this helpful
