Teslagrad Remastered

I didn't notice any difference from the original game graphics-wise. The challenge rooms were more annoying than fun, with the exception of one or two. In a thumbs-up or thumbs-down world, this game is worth it, if only because you can get it on some seriously good sales. Not worth it if you already have the original, though.

I originally got this game as part of a bundle and I'm happy I did! The movement is a bit janky at times, but the puzzles are nothing extreme and the game is short enough that the experience is still enjoyable. There are 36 collectibles in the game and the game really helps you to find them all, as only 1 of them (the "last" one) is actually exposed and you have to go out of your way to get the others... On that note! This game really rewards exploration. Albeit working as metroidvania, the stage is small enough that backtracking doesn't feel tiring, so explore to your heart's content!... My dumb4$$ decided it was a good idea to grab every single collectible first try and this definitely made the game longer, so do as I say not as I did. I recommend just playing the game normally and then start getting all collectibles near the end of the game (You'll know when) and if you do so your experience will be more enjoyable. Bosses are a bit gimmicky, but it took me no more than 15 mins to beat any of them, so they're not super difficult either. A game that attempts to straddle a line somewhere between a precision Metroidvania-platformer, with magnetic-themed puzzle solving. When it succeeds it's an admirable gem. Unfortunately the game comes up short in it's most basic element necessary: moving the character around never feels good. Using the push/pull mechanics of the magnets in this game feels half-baked and janky, and never becomes something that should become second-hand as you progress. Boss fights underline this, and are the most frustrating part of this game. You die instantly, so memorizing the bosses moves becomes a gauntlet. That in and of itself isn't a bad thing, but there are time that it becomes so vague in what the game is expecting of you, that besting them requires an insight where you must either look at a guide, or develop ESP to know whatever the developer was thinking. An insult to good platformers.

Loved the unique gameplay mechanics mixed with the gorgeous art style.
