Cool colorscheme combined with a weird setting. Aside from one puzzle near the end, I would also say that it plays rather well!

I enjoyed this one immensely. I actually installed and uninstalled it a few times prior to starting the game because adult life is unforgiving and I just couldn’t find the time or energy to play it *cries. I wanted to set aside some time to play this in one sitting because I knew I would get sucked in. And oh, how right I was. The art style and colours were right up my alley and Love had just the right amount of sass to make her courageous but not annoying. It was truly fantastic to watch her come into her own and become someone fit to be empress. The story was well-crafted and I did guess certain events correctly, while others surprised me. That being said, the parts I successfully deduced did not take away from my enjoyment of watching the story unfold. The puzzles were not too difficult and the plot was linear enough that it wasn’t too hard to figure out the next steps - though I do admit one or two solutions did have me stumped (just a little). I really liked the UI and the map navigation was unique and simple. The cursor was very pretty as well. It's pretty good and has an interesting story, but the music is what really shines about this game I feel. The interface is a bit different from the usual point and click adventure, in that you have to click on a section of map at the bottom right of the screen to move from room to room. It's kind of like Shadowgate in that respect, but you don't have to pick "Move" from the menu before going to another room. The visuals are great, although I feel like some extra character portraits would have been a good addition for when different emotions are supposed to be conveyed during dialogue. The interface is very easy to learn and use, so there are no problems there. Overall I think it is a well made game that I would recommend to anyone who likes point and click adventure games.

What a great game! The story, while far from perfect, was unpredictable and memorable. The characters are neat, what little humor is present lands well, the art is amazing and the music was all right, I did use a guide, helpfully provided by the Community here, to go through the game, because while some of the interactions were fairly obvious and / or logical, a handful of them were not, at least to me. Overall, definitely visit the lighthouse!

Please note: This is a „limited“ recommendation: [i]Blood Nova[/i] most likely is for a small proportion of gamers interested in pixel-art and retro-point and click adventures. How ever this game is not strictly “point” and click. The interaction on the different places works like this classic genre, but the dialog is largely a one-way street and you move through the game by clicking on a navigation field that reminded me of [i]Minesweeper[/i]. However here lies the first odd choice: While it seemed to me that every location had its specific place on this field of navigation you have to be in a specific location to reach certain areas/locations/rooms. This takes away from the idea of being somewhere without crossing several locations several time. The story is interesting, not breath taking but somehow unique.
