About Yugo: the non-game

Yugo: the non-game is a virtual space where you can drive a car, listen to the radio, and invite people to talk and share the experience with. It's a space that allows long conversations and hangouts that are often harder to come by when communicating digitally. It's a non-gamification of common voice chat sessions between people playing a game. It is a game for non-gamers.

When a player starts a session, they are the car driver, and each person that joins is seated in one of the other three passenger seats. Players are automatically connected via voice chat. The radio stations are real-life internet radio streams and several of them are available by default, and more can be added or removed by the players.

The environment, while it is abstracted and contextless, still contains elements of a certain time and region. The serpentine roads in the game are inspired by the mountainous roads going from Kosovo to Montenegro. The car is modeled after Yugo, an iconic car produced in Yugoslavia in the 1980s’. The time of the day is reminiscent of dusks in Kosovo, mostly because of the omnipresence of crows and the sounds they make at evening flying back to their nests for the night. Similarly reminiscent of that region are also the monolithic-like objects on top of hills, inspired by Socialist-era Yugoslavian monuments in Kosovo and the rest ex-Yugoslavia. Aside from the significance they have for the area and people there, they have a striking visual appearance that blur the time and place perceptions.
What’s New in v2.0:In addition to various improvements to existing features, Yugo: The Non-Game version 2.0 introduces exciting new elements:

Public Sessions

You can now join not just your friends, but also public sessions. Choose from a list of ongoing sessions or jump into a random one. This feature enhances the community aspect of the game, allowing for spontaneous interactions and connections with new players.

Customizable Radio

You can now add your own real-life radio stations and enjoy them with your fellow passengers in the car. We’ve also provided a database of available radio stream URLs to make it easy for you to find your favorite stations.

this game is an absolute GEM and an insider tip. if you expect to meet new people here than that will fail. but if you search for a good place to hang out and listen to radio music together and talk to your bestie, this is your place.

I want to give this a neutral rating because the game itself isn't bad. You get to ride in a yugo on a very pleasant road taking in the scenery as it goes by. There's a radio included to add your own stations and the like to listen to and with other people... But, that's the issue. There are no others. No one's around to play the game anymore. Game released and people played but then as it went on less and less people engaged in the game because well. The game itself isn't a typical game, it's a social game. It's sad to buy the game and never get to experience anything it had to offer.

Only because of Yugo which is Yugoslavian car back in 80's i will give thumbs up. But developer says that when you playing you can hear birds from Kosovo, that make me think about why is that. Also game is like multitplayer chat game and only driving Yugo car in endless and chatting when you hearing those birds of victory of Serbian people back in Kosovo Battle 1389.
