About Friendly Facade
Friendly Facade is a visual novel with point and click and strategy mini-games incorporated into key story moments to immerse the player in the experience. The game explores how each character's background and strongly held ideals inform their personality, decision-making, and strategy in tense situations. Every character has their own goals and motivations and form a web of interpersonal relationships that intersect and collide with each other to form a rich, nuanced story where not everyone is able to get a happy ending. Inside the peaceful confines of the Isolated Society Study, competition, manipulation, and betrayal run rampant, and this is before the Golding Foundation intervenes, changing the rules of the game, and the fates of those 16 individuals trapped within it, forever...Can you solve the mystery of the Golding Foundation, and dispel the facades that all 16 characters in this story use to mask their deepest, darkest secrets?

i am reviewing before the release of chapter 6 and right now i definitely would recommend for fans of danganronpa and your turn to die. this game is full of potential, especially in the latest chapters. the characters are fun, and the art has unique charm. it takes some time to reach the real meat of the story. personally, i had no issue with this as i was drawn in by the characters but i would recommend anyone playing to give the the game its deserved time before dismissing it or reviewing. however, i do feel that some mini games could be improved. in particular, the rhythm game in chapter 4 (i think) was frustrating to play. the notes were completely mismatched to the timing of music making it very difficult. overall though, i am very excited to see how the game will continue.1 found this helpful
The writing and characters are really strong! Very easy to get immersed in the story. Can't wait to see what comes next!
(Review after finishing Chapter 6 which was released in July 2024) Friendly Facade is a visual novel reminiscent of Your Turn to Die with some impressive character writing. I particularly like the main character Maggie who gives off an anime protagonist vibe but had moments of agency and subtle flaws I wouldn't have expected. It has a slow start in theory, but the writing in these sections is brisk and punctuated by interesting minigames, and as of chapter 6 it gets quite a bit more exciting. Can't wait to play the rest of it.
