About Right and Down and Dice

Explore randomly generated card dungeons where you can only move Right and Down, use Dice to defeat mighty enemies, gather powerful artifacts and learn new abilities! Will you be able to escape from the dungeon?

ROGUELIKE GAMEPLAY

Each dungeon is randomly generated, so each game is unique! On each turn, the only decision you can make is to go right or down! Explore the card dungeon and fight against mighty enemies, get blessings in the sacred shrines or buy new powerful artifacts from the shopkeeper!

USE THE DICE TO FIGHT!

Each time you move to a new encounter card, you have to use your dice! The battle is divided in turns. In the player turn, roll the dice and place them on the enemies to defeat them! You can also place the dice in your skills to obtain different effects, like rolling more dice or healing yourself. But be careful, in the enemy turn they will attack you and activate their skills!

UNLOCKABLE ARTIFACTS, HEROES AND DUNGEONS

  • Unlock 6 heroes with different starting artifacts and skills to create your custom run!
  • More than 100 artifacts with a wide variety of effects that you can unlock with every game you play!

Right and Down and Dice is a compact roguelike that demonstrates how restrictive rules can produce surprisingly deep strategy. Developed and published by mc2games, the game revolves around navigating procedurally generated card-based dungeons while obeying one crucial limitation: movement is restricted to traveling right or downward. There is no opportunity to backtrack after choosing a route, so even a seemingly harmless movement decision can determine what resources, enemies, shops, and other opportunities remain available later in the run. This transforms navigation into a strategic puzzle rather than a conventional form of dungeon exploration. The restricted movement system is effective because players can see enough of the dungeon to consider the consequences of different paths. Taking an attractive reward immediately may place the character on a dangerous route, while avoiding a difficult enemy could mean sacrificing access to something valuable. Shops, sacred shrines, artifacts, and encounters compete for attention, forcing the player to constantly compare immediate survival against longer-term advantages. Since each dungeon is randomly generated, memorizing a perfect route…

Another iteration of Right and Down, this time with a dice. You've got basically 6 classes and 5 difficulty levels. One of the classes is significantly harder to win with than the rest, but thankfully nobody's forcing you to play with that. I liked the variety of the items, and to be honest there wasn't exactly a balanced array of them, so luck played a major role sometimes, but in the end i think that strategy can get you as far as you want, once you understand how things work. It's easy to learn at the start and from then on you only have to focus a bit on the enemy details and it's a fun adventure to be had. I hope they make another one. Recommended to all.

Very nice and clear cut deckbuilding game.

Smaller and more complex than Right and Down, but just as easy to lose a few hours to it.

You move right or down, then you roll some dice. Sometimes the dice have good numbers on them. Sometimes the dice numbers are bad. Then you move right or you move down, unless the game is over. I'm kind of astonished at how thoroughly the game underwhelmed me.

What do you mean there is no achievement for getting max die and having them all be 6s. The games Achievement-Fu is weak. Otherwise, very cool game :)
