✦ AI summary

Players appreciate the game's substantial length, Japanese RPG aesthetic, and visual style, with some finding it a worthwhile experience that recalls classics like Shadow Hearts. However, many criticize the confusing and poorly-told story that feels disjointed and difficult to follow, the repetitive design that feels dated, and a final boss that spikes dramatically in difficulty and can feel unfairly punishing. Overall, the game shows potential but struggles with storytelling execution and pacing issues that lead some players to abandon it.

Finally cleared and platinum it. I gave 6.7/10 Story is short and compact It did feel confused most of the time. For the ending part I really don't mind at all and It's actually give me a good chuckle. Characters design look good. My favorite character is Butterfly, she's a feisty one. There are some BGM that sound like a whale in pain. But the gameplay.. Both the battle and the mini game weren't fun at all. The battle and equipment system remind me of those atrocious gacha games where I have to squeeze everything just to barely get above 50% crit rate. The farming for gears/exp is very tedious the enemies is hard to kill by just one turn and gold/exp reward per battle is measly. That mean you would be stuck on that one chapter taking a long time farming until you strong and very well geared enough to take on the boss and dungeon in that chapter. No one hit skill or shortcut. Now to the minigame "Mind/Hack" It's a deck building game just like slay the spine except you can't do anything to your deck like buy a new card or get rid of the card your have or upgrade it (you can technically upgrade the whole deck but it changed into different deck). The main game battle already alrea…

This game reminds me of a cross between RainCode and Anno Mutationem presented with some visual novel scenes. There is English-language voice acting also and it's well-done, but most of it is text-based. There is a part where you walk around in various areas doing quests/side-quests and then a part where you enter "Lairs" or basically dungeons for turn-based combat. There's a level system and stuff, items, skills/talents, party members, shops, companion stories, etc. So far I haven't encountered any "investigation" mechanics despite your MC being a private detective, which I appreciate cos I always hate that stuff in games since I am bad at it lol. That might change tho. Anyway I'm enjoying it so far! Most of this review is explaining what the game actually is like because I have seen it before and always passed because I thought it was more like a platformer or something, but I've got 4+hrs so far and it's been enjoyable.

I'm mixed on this one but ultimately I enjoyed it so I'll give it a recommended. This is everything I expected out of a budget title which I enjoyed. Its a bit clunky and the style of gameplay is mostly smooth with some clunk. You'll spend most of your time running around in dungeons and in the city and experiencing bits and pieces of story told through dialogue or brief comic strips. I liked the story. Its weird, in places a mess, but you don't get these kinds of stories outside of weird budget titles. It tries to do way too much with what time and resources it had and you can easily miss what's happening in a scene if you aren't careful. However there were some really fun ideas and even some really good and well written moments in there. The tone and setting and designs all work well to paint an interesting world outside of a few hiccups and the tendency to tell more than show. If you struggle to keep up with stories this likely will throw you. The story will randomly decide you are in two places at once and things are happening in the story that aren't stated clearly. The ending was a bit disappointing for me and left quite a few threads hanging but its the way it is sometimes…

I Did Not Expect to Love Mato Anomalies This Much Mato Anomalies has some gameplay DNA that feels a lot like Persona 5, but set against a Blade Runner backdrop. Then, out of nowhere, some of the story beats play out like online comics. It's an odd combination, but it works. The art style is unusual — I won't pretend otherwise — but it's genuinely beautiful and remarkably cohesive. Nothing about it feels bolted on. The story is weird and futuristic, and it kept giving me Altered Carbon flashbacks. Fair warning, though: this is one of those games that's probably going to get you or completely miss you, with very little middle ground. For me it took a leap of faith to stick with it, but the moment I picked up my first two party members, it clicked. It's kept building ever since. The mazes are randomly generated but tend to play out fairly linear once they're built — very Daggerfall in that respect, if you remember that one. The variation is limited, I won't sugarcoat it, and yeah, it can feel like a grind. But it's a grind I don't mind. What I really appreciate is that there's always a way to go full completionist — every item, every enemy, every boost is there for the taking if yo…

This game is not very fun the animations are rough the music doesnt fit the setting and the writing for the game is paced very poorly. Very little incentive to grind in the first chapter but by hcapter 2 its way to hard to grind and lvling takes forever on things your level so really ruins the gameplay loop for me. Got it on sale for 3.98 and it wasnt worth it. it makes me think of a bargain store brand soul hackers but without any of the depth or intrigue.
