Bonnie Bear Saves Frogtime

I was very disappointed by the game. From the trailer, I thought it was going to be a funny story-driven game with the occasional tactical aspects. However, it was completely the opposite. Most of what you do is play their "frog-hopping tactical battler" that's very frustrating as it's too simple for it to be the core gameplay. And then, to make it worse, the story was quite superficial and childish. I wish the developers spent their resources on the game itself, rather than investing in having voice actors. I try to avoid putting negative reviews, but sadly that's not the case here.

What an incredibly wholesome and funny game! The game consists of two elements: First, walking around, talking to people and exploring (brings back memories of [url=https://store.steampowered.com/app/481510/Night_in_the_Woods/]Night In The Woods[/url] or [url=https://store.steampowered.com/app/530320/Wandersong/]Wandersong[/url] ). Second, Frogtime, a neat tactical boardgame that is used to solve all conflicts in the game's world. These matches are the equivalent of jrpgs encounters. Frogtime is simple and complex enough to never get boring or too overwhelming. But the best thing are the voice actors. The characters are so full of personality and so likeable, that it's a joy to listen to the dialogues. And while there are some serious themes in the game, it always feels lighthearted which is nice in a time where it seems like every game has to involve some kind of trauma.

Another absolute Bonte Avond banger 🔥🔥 as always, the humor is exactly the right amount of cheesy, the vibes are extremely cozy, the story is heartwarming but not afraid to get vulnerable and real (in fact, that's the whole POINT of this story), and the songs are incredibly catchy. Bonnie is a wonderful character to follow and their arc is extremely well done, but the supporting cast is also so endearing. However, the biggest strength of this game is frogtime itself - while in a perfect world I'd wish for a full Pokémon-style box system, once you get over the fact that your frogs are not forever you can have a lot of fun crafting different builds, and the battle system is way more complex and strategic than I first expected. Definitely my favorite cozy narrative comedy musical tactical frog RPG, although perhaps I'm a bit biased 🌛

OMG I LOVE THIS GAME SMMM!!!!! It's such a great game! The story, the voice acting, the visual style, the humor, THE SONGSSS!!!! everything is sooooo perfectttttttt, I LOVE IT! Definetly worth playing, even though it took me some time to really get into it, especially the frogtime parts, but they really do become way more fun after a while :))

Great game with great story. A lot of love has been clearly put into all of it. (only battle I had to turn down the difficulty was the Queen Bee)

Another masterpiece from Bonte Avond. An absolute delight to play, pure silliness which is much needed after a dreary day at work. The voices are genius. Just the right level of difficulty and learning curve. And frogs, so many frogs. Grab this game on sale, worth every penny.
