About Mossroot
Mossroot is a party-based tactical RPG Roguelike. Climb up a fortified mountain. Fight bandits, knights, cavemen and more. Power up your team, make hard decisions, recruit enemies to help fight against tyranny. Bring them to your Homebase, get to know them and build a safe haven together.
Fight Your Way to the Top
Take down the Evil King! Climb his treacherous mountain, travel through varied dangerous biomes, each with their own cadre of monsters, bandits, and potential allies. Find treasures in each fight: runes that will power up your teammates, and items like bombs and potions you can use to fight your foes. No run is exactly the same, the map up the mountain is procedurally generated.
Make Difficult Decisions
You'll make pitstops on your way up the hill. Some are simply places to catch your breath, but watch out, others will force you to make important decisions. Are you willing to sacrifice on strength to increase another? The choices you make will decide how easy your attempt is.
Recruit Your Enemies
Not everyone you face is a bad guy. Recruit sympathetic souls to your cause by finding what they want and fulfilling it. Each new unit has their own special powers they can use, some synergising with each other, creating different teams to build and new ways to play the game.
Build a Safe Haven Together
Bring your new recruits back to your homebase, a village destroyed by war. Talk to them, learn their life, and rebuild the town together. As you grow in size, you'll find merchants and other services that will help your runs become easier, or even harder, with greater reward.

This is a nice little game with Fire Emblem style turn based tactics. It pulls heavily from the Redwall book series so if you like that you'll like this. Starting out can be sightly rough though because the enemies ramp decently fast and they *zoom* in the later acts. I would suggest something that we players can press to see what details enemies can do, such as certain units that can move attack then move again. That would be super helpful. Side note: I can see this having the basis for some kind of novellas Mr.Dev. I would like to know more about this whole setting.1 found this helpful
Feels a bit like a Fire Emblem, Slay the Spire mashup. It does have some meta progression stuff, very much in the roguelite vein.1 found this helpful
This game is cute, and despite it's simplicity, it's got a good balance between difficulty and ease of access for people who don't play games like this very often. Like me. The music is fitting too, even if there aren't that many tracks, it's got enough of a bop to not get stale. The characters are all charming too, and there's some real good design to be found in each of them. Sersha's probably my favorite of the bunch, and I ended the game's hard mode in a pretty satisfying way too, with only Sersha and Madaline left standing against the King & Queen when my other party members got hit by random crits. Together they managed to defeat em, and it made the ending panels pretty satisfying because of it. I had a fun time with this game, even if it does have a few bugs, and I'd say it's well worth it's price.
Roses are red. Violets are blue. I made god dead. And I'll make out with the bat too.
Mossroot is an incredibly fun tactics RPG with a cute cast of animals characters to recruit among your ranks. The gameplay is great, and later on the fights start to really test your knowledge of each of your party members abilities and how you strategize around them.
A pretty relaxing rogue-like. I appreciate the art/animation and the characters. At first I was uncertain, but it's a good time and easy to get into.
