About Tracktopia

Tracktopia is a strategy game with city-building elements, where your city moves on tracks and serves as a super powerful unit. The goal of the game is to destroy the enemy nation. Boost your city's production to create more units. Don’t forget to invest in research as well, enabling you to develop more efficient buildings and stronger units. Achieve this by constructing districts in Tracktopia—there are 10 different types available.

Build!

Your city is powerful but not indestructible, so you'll need smaller units. There are 5 types of units:
  • Tanks
  • Fighters
  • Bombers
  • Helicopters
  • Drones
Each of them can destroy specific types of units. For example, a tank cannot shoot down a bomber, but a bomber can successfully bomb a tank.Units, as well as some districts, can be upgraded through research, which is divided into 3 eras inspired by the 20th and 21st centuries:
  • World War II
  • Cold War
  • Modern Era
Tracktopia itself is also a unit! It has a massive amount of HP and can destroy everything in its path. However, these powerful traits are balanced by a limited number of movements per turn and the fact that losing the city means the end of the game. Therefore, you must protect Tracktopia and carefully utilize its crushing power.

Charge into action!

The UI is attrocious, and nothing is explained or displayed to the player all that well.. however.. I do still find the game to be somewhat enjoyable, it doesn't take itself too seriously and has a pretty neat concept. If it just received some UX and quality of life improvements it'd be pretty good.. I'd also like to see more stats being displayed like: -required population, -being able to see your available units in the production menu, -being able to see deployed units in a list rather than finding them on the map, -explanations on what can attack what, or at least a disclaimer that it's my job to figure it out (I have), -always-on health bars or numbers for damaged units and districts -automatically turning sand into glass or wheat into bread instead of having to do it myself every turn -automatically distributing food, and allowing crop selection while building would make each turn feel like less of a drag. -alerts for when productions or researches are completed -alerts for when one of your units take damage These are just some ideas on how to make the experience a little more accessible and engaging. Overall it seems like a game that doesn't take itself too ser…

The game is pretty fun. The mechanics work really well, although it takes a while to fully learn them. I liked the turn based sections a lot, they were fairly challenging. The models are also pretty well-made. I wish there was some kind of soundtrack in the background, but most of the time I was too focused on the gameplay itself, so the absence of it doesn't matter to me that much. Overall, I liked it, it's a pretty good game.

The game is a really cool idea with a lot of potential but there are definitely some weak spots. The graphics can feel a bit too simple and lack detail at times. The UI could use some work and the lack of music is a strange choice, the sound effects are fine but can get a bit annoying. On the plus side, the gameplay is enjoyable and the whole concept of building and managing a mobile city on tracks offers a nice twist on strategy games. It’s got a lot of room for improvement but still worth a try.

This game for it's price is pretty fun. The tutorial is quick and tells you everything you need to know. The gameplay, while simple is very fun and rewarding. If you would ask me I would recommend this game.
