Train Tycoon is a simple browser/flash tier railroad tycoon game. Run a train business, manage your budget, expand your empire. It's a great idea for a game (and has been tremendously successful in actual, properly built games). Unfortunately, in the case of Train Tycoon, the art assets and interface are extremely clunky and simplistic... I've seen better interfaces written in HTML. And there are better games you can play for free on the web. The quality here is just far too low for this to be recommendable to anyone. If you're looking for this kind of game, try Train Fever or the older Railroad Tycoon games.6 found this helpful
This was on my wishlist for a while now and my friend bought it for me while it was on sale. However, I wouldn’t have bought it in its current state. It’s a good concept; not enough features, mildly buggy and inaccessible, but I can still see myself playing this based on the capabilities it has right now. I’m not sure if this is supposed to be an idle game or not but I’m a fan of idle games in general so I went into this positive. I like most of the options available, but it’s needs to be more fleshed out and have more content in it. Buggy -The pause button doesn’t work. -The “End of day report” and the Accounting page in “Financial” has a small translation error. It says “Receipts” instead of income, revenue or a similar word in the English version. I don’t think this is technically considered a bug but I wasn’t sure where to put this under. Inaccessible/Confusing -Can’t access the character’s needs in easy, medium and hard mode. But the game says that we should be keeping these meters satisfied to avoid dying. I went over 100 in-game days and never knew where to find this meter. If there’s an option to access it, I don’t know where it is and I didn't get an game over screen fo…5 found this helpful
This game is pretty much shovelware. You could easily get the impression this is an indie developer, however they are the same exact studio as Softwaves, who have made at least two games that are the exact same UI and dynamics, but equally as dreadful according to the reviews. The UI is terrible, the tutorial not very helpful, takes ages to move between turns, the English is sometimes like it was written by a child with some bit in what appears to be French. The first mission takes ten days to finish, so you are waiting around for ages with nothing to do. Not a great start! It's a shame really, the game has a lot of potential. It seems like a browser-style game, which is what it would be much better suited as! This has been on my wish list for a few years for some reason so bought it in the sale. The reviews were bad but thought I would give it a go. I should have listened to them as this was a complete waste of money! MegaSoft Games appears to be the same studio as Softwaves, Softwaves Mini, HandMade Games and GamesBraz, all of which produce similar shovelware and asset flipping games, many with the exact same fonts and style store page headers. The reviews of the many other …
The game's concept is excellent, and its minimalism is quite appealing. However, due to its minimalist design, it was expected to be fast-paced. Every time I clicked 'next day,' there was quite a waiting time, which was rather discouraging. I'm not sure if this was one of your early game developments, but some tips I could give (I'm also a game dev and really into the Tycoon theme) would be to make it visually more appealing while maintaining minimalism, speed it up, add something extra to the game to prevent it from becoming a loop of earning money just to earn more money without much purpose. Most importantly, to ensure your game is enjoyable, give it to others to play, and if you have the time, play your own game. I bought all three of your Tycoon games and still plan to test the other two. Good luck on your journey as a game dev.
it would be nice if it gave an option to buy more station or offices and more trains and more employees. plus it complete contracts with shortage amount of time first then the one with longer remaining time left on contracts first
