National Transit

Reviewing this at v0.2 so the bones look good. I assume they'll keep working on it but it is a good.prospect.Pretty cheap for what it is, too. Basically you draw lines on a map and link up cities and towns to build transport networks. the city view is a bit ??? but the national view looks solid. It does a pretty good model of the economic underpinnings, with also some opportunities to put policies in place so it goes a little beyond just drawing lines on a map. The demand graphs are really neat and once you figure out what the graphs mean gives you a good idea of where the budget should be spent. Maybe they'll flesh out the map display (you know, so you have a better idea of what's forest, what's farmland, what's urban sprawl and what's mountain) as they develop it The terrain generation is decent and they should keep working on that, but if they somehow had an import function that use real world data (openstreetmap perhaps) or fantasy map creators, that would be *&$(@^% dear god there are people you wouldn't be able to prise from their house.

This is something special. A credible simulation of transport across a country. Travellers make realistic-looking choices between roads, or (once you have more than roads) modes of transport. Peak-hour congestion is something I'll never think about the same way again. It's more like the original Sim City (a software toy) than a computer game. There's no observable loss condition, and the only win condition is to complete all of the achievements. It's not very exciting. It's just deeply thoughtful. There's bits of polish that it could usefully get. But you won't find anything else quite like it, and there's something glorious about watching a nation take shape (as in, literally, starting shapeless, and getting a shape).

Pretty solid! I would love to be able to more easily see demand and view traffic but the basic game loop here is pretty fun.

I love this game. It gets really frequent updates, i really dont have anything negativo to say.

Great beta game and straightforward. Nice to not get wrapped up in every detail and just enjoy it.
