Black Light Kills is a compact but mood-heavy psychological horror title developed by Fatih Atacan PRODUCTIONS and published by TallGrass Tapes Interactive that leans decisively into atmosphere, ambiguity, and mental unease rather than action or mechanical complexity. From the opening moments, the game establishes a somber, disorienting tone, placing players in the role of Aiden, a man drawn into a quiet town where disappearances, distorted memories, and creeping dread slowly erode any sense of normalcy. Rather than presenting a clear mystery to solve, the game invites players to experience a gradual psychological unraveling, using uncertainty as its primary narrative and emotional tool. Gameplay is rooted in slow-paced exploration and environmental interaction. Players move through deserted streets, claustrophobic interiors, and dimly lit spaces that feel deliberately stripped of comfort. There is no combat and very little in the way of traditional challenge; progress is driven by observation, triggering events, and piecing together fragments of story scattered throughout the environment. This design places emphasis on presence and attentiveness, encouraging players to absorb vis…1 found this helpful
"With approximately 1 hour of gameplay" that’s how you started. You made a game using a solid engine like Unreal and shared it claiming there are two different endings, trying to get people to replay it. But both paths lead to the same ending. You said it would take about an hour to finish, yet the game was over in 25 minutes. Out of that 25 minutes, maybe 10 minutes were actual gameplay for me. The other 15 minutes were just empty animations. And yet, you shamelessly put a price tag close to $3 on this thing, throwing in 2-3 jump scares as if that makes it worth it. Aren’t you embarrassed? I’m seriously asking aren’t you ashamed? Even beginners using Unity are making better games than this. At least their games have some replay value. But then again, what can you really expect from a Turkish-made game? I haven’t seen a single good one yet. I wish I had tried it the day I bought it I'd have refunded it instantly. But now it’s past the 14-day mark, so I can’t return it. Don’t buy this. And don’t let anyone else buy it either.1 found this helpful
Would have been good to see a save system at the start of each level as there are 2 endings meaning you have to re play the whole 1 hour again just to get the 2nd ending. AN OK game but no real gameplay as most of the gameplay was cutscenes for every jumpscare. You would get 40-60 seconds gameplay then horror cutscene, then another 30 seconds gameplay then horror cutscene,t 20 seconds gameplay, cutscene, collect a key, cutscene, collect 2nd key, cutscene. I get it's a horror game but cut scenes were overdone for every horror moment. Open a door to a cutscene. Music was good, sound effects good. Jumpscares a little overboard. They were right up in your face with sound effects like screaming. The start first jumpscare I jumped but after that it was funny. Good game to play for an hour. No achievements. 2 endings but sadly as no save, if you want to see the 2nd ending it means you have to replay an hour again from the start. I acciddentally missed out a door early on as a door fell down and I thought I would continue on ahead and jump the gate, but then when I tried to turn back to go back to the room, the game wouldnt let me so it made me wonder what I missed? Maybe 2nd…
Fun little game! Hard to follow the story though.
Not really worth your time for three reasons. The first is that the choice at the end for a "good" or "bad" ending provides zero context to know which hole to enter. You just randomly pick one and hope you get the good ending which I did. If you didn't get the good ending it will cost you another hour to come back to make the other choice since there are no save points. The other big problem is the ending makes sense for the "bad" ending. It makes absolutely no sense at all for the "good" ending. I'm not a fan of jump scares that are overdone or don't have a point but they do for the bad ending so I can live with that. Finally, there is a third reason and possibly most important. The game relies on you picking up notes and reading them. You can pass over notes and miss something. One of the most important reveals is a note that is at the end. I didn't even notice the note. Passed right by it. Saw it on Youtube for both endings. If you need to reveal that important detail in a note the gamer must be forced to pick it up and read it to get the explanation. I cannot recommend the game though because of the reasons above.
