Waking up in an abandoned house, you find cryptic notes in your own handwriting, and something sinister lurking just beyond the walls. It's a psychological rollercoaster that keeps you questioning what's real, delivering a haunting experience that'll stick with you long after you put it down.
At first Crimson Theory just feels like an action-packed horror game. Fighting mythological creatures is exciting, but the real effect comes as the game progresses. The story turns into a psychological nightmare at some point and the intensity of the atmosphere draws you in. The visuals are very successful, especially the lighting and environmental design. The voiceovers also add to the tension. There is no jumpscare, but there is a tension that slowly gnaws at you. I definitely recommend it for those looking for horror and deep story.
