I had a good time with this game and hope more people who enjoy this genre bump into it down the road!
Live Hard, Die Hard, developed and published by Asobism.Co.,Ltd, is an ambitious hybrid strategy experience that fuses real-time tactical combat with layered squad management and unconventional resource systems. Set in a near-future Earth under siege by alien forces, the game casts players as the commander of an elite resistance unit tasked with holding the line against escalating extraterrestrial threats. Rather than focusing solely on battlefield tactics or base construction, it intertwines both into a tightly connected gameplay loop that constantly forces difficult decisions under pressure. At its core, the game operates on a cyclical structure divided between preparation phases and combat deployments. During downtime at the base, players allocate resources, manage wounded soldiers, research alien technologies, and upgrade facilities. This phase is not simply a passive upgrade screen—it directly influences survival during missions. Choosing which technologies to prioritize, which soldiers to enhance, and how to distribute limited supplies has long-term consequences that echo across subsequent operations. The sense of escalation builds steadily, with each passing week intensifyi…
A fun, cartoony, chaotic game of... whatever genre this is. It's the one where the little soldiers run from the left to the right, shooting enemies that come from the opposite direction. Kind of like Home Behind 2 or that Bad 2 Bad thing, one of those thingies! Laterally Scrolling Tactical Command? Something like that. The twist is, you're mostly managing the mobile medical clinic rather than the troops. You do choose your soldiers, develop talents for them, modify them with cybernetics and genetic traits, but during actual gameplay, your main priority is to analyze and dissect the corpses of strange invaders killed in battle by your troops. This allows you to level up your command vehicle, increase the energy capacity of your support abilities (like shooting explodey things at the enemy) and obtain a variety of perks, some of which you can then carry on to the following battles in your current expedition. Critically, you can also surgically restore the health of injured or near-death soldiers after either ordering them to retreat, or waiting for them to be incapacitated and picked up by your medics. They may then either be allowed to recover fully, or sent back out immediate…
Saw this game from a YouTuber named Idle cub. This game is truly amazing! Just beat it today after countless hours of legit happiness. The game will start off hard and overwhelming, but that's how its supposed to be until you get the hang of it. It leans in that rougelite feel of pushing yourself up and trying again. Giving a tip without spoiling the game too much: focus on how you'd like your squad to interact as a team, putting more focus into one fighter with a carrying that person over to the next phase utilizing the "deja vu" mod. I won't say anymore other than, you should give this game a shot and support the idie devs that are clearly putting in more love and passion into their games than the "AAA" companies.
