About Amber Alert

Disclaimer: This game is designed to be hard. You will need to listen carefully to your surroundings, as the killers will attack silently and unexpectedly. You will probably die a lot. If you don't like feeling as though you are in an unknown and unfair environment (don't forget, you are expected by dozens of killers in empty streets and houses at night), this game is not for you. If you think you can handle it, welcome to the mess!

SLASHER HORROR MEETS BODYCAM

Step into the shoes of a dedicated policeman in "Amber Alert," an intense survival horror, bodycam-themed game that will test your wits and nerves. Responding to a late-night call about a missing person, you arrive at the reported location alone, determined to follow up on an anonymous tip. As you venture deeper into a seemingly deserted neighborhood, an unsettling silence envelops you.

The dark streets and eerie silence give way to a terrifying discovery: a sinister cult of women abductors lurks in the shadows, ready to strike whenever you lower your guard. These relentless foes are cunning and will use the darkness to their advantage, making every corner a potential death trap.

Your mission is urgent and dangerous: find and rescue a girl who is still alive, held captive by these malevolent criminals. Navigate through the perilous streets, abandoned houses, and hidden hideouts, all while evading or confronting the cult members who will stop at nothing to protect their secrets.

"Amber Alert" is not for the faint-hearted. This game will keep you on edge, demanding quick reflexes, sharp observation, and unwavering courage. Every decision matters, and every second counts. Can you outsmart the cult and save the girl, or will you become their next victim?

Features:

- **Immersive Horror Experience**: Navigate through a dark, atmospheric neighborhood filled with hidden dangers and chilling surprises.
- **Intense Survival Gameplay**: Stay alert and react quickly to threats lurking in the shadows. Use your wits and limited resources to survive.
- **Engaging Storyline**: Unravel the mystery behind the abductions and the sinister cult as you progress through the game.
- **High Replayability**: Multiple paths and randomly placed items, random enemy locations, and quick events ensure that each playthrough offers a new experience.

The game touches on very sensitive themes, but everything is censored, which adds to the bodycam experience. There is a cheat menu, by the way...

Prepare yourself for a relentless, heart-pounding journey in "Amber Alert." Will you save the innocent, or will the darkness claim you too?

Amber Alert starts off tense, scary, and genuinely stressful. You play as a police officer investigating a late-night call, and the game does a good job making you feel unsafe early on. The permadeath also adds pressure, since one mistake can send you right back to the start. My main issue is that it becomes repetitive after a while. The loop of searching houses, finding keys, and avoiding cult members starts strong, but by the end I felt like I already knew what was coming. The audio cues and scares lose some impact because they repeat too much. Still, I did enjoy it overall. It’s short, probably around an hour depending on how you play, and while it feels a bit rushed, the opening tension and cult-horror setup work well enough. I’d say it sits close to neutral, but I still lean towards positive.

Amber Alert is a survival horror game that thrives on making players feel vulnerable from beginning to end. Rather than relying on elaborate storytelling or cinematic action, it builds its identity around suspense, uncertainty, and the constant fear that danger could appear at any moment. Players assume the role of a police officer investigating the disappearance of a young girl after receiving an anonymous tip. What begins as a routine search quickly spirals into a nightmare as the investigation uncovers an abandoned neighborhood occupied by a sinister cult responsible for the kidnappings. The game's bodycam-inspired presentation immediately enhances immersion, creating the sensation of experiencing every terrifying moment firsthand while limiting visibility enough to keep players uneasy throughout the journey. The atmosphere is undoubtedly the game's greatest achievement. Every street, deserted home, and dark corridor is designed to keep players questioning whether it is safe to move forward. Instead of filling the environment with constant action, Amber Alert uses silence and anticipation as its primary weapons. The abandoned setting feels oppressive, with darkness concealing p…

Can't speak to the VR experience, as I haven't played it, but I really enjoyed this game for what it was. Movement, gunplay and aesthetics surprisingly excellent for such a low price tag, and the randomized elements add to replayability. It isn't really a straight "horror" game, but more like a twitch/ tactical shooter with a horror atmosphere. Found myself like clearing rooms and holding angles to get through each house, and it made for a fun short experience. If that sorta vibe appeals to you, it is well worth the 4.99, at least on the K/M version
