SEBI 16

While this title can be compared to UFO 50, the sixteen games it features are quite small, not to mention that there is no narrative device connecting these, nor a hidden, 17th game to be found, as opposed to UFO 50's framing device and the metagame (which is basically the 51st game). SEBI 16 is thus a standard collection of games. It features sixteen highly varied titles, most of which range from decent to excellent. It's definitely a worthwhile experience and I've had a lot of fun during the ten or so hours I've spent beating the sixteen games (or most of them, at least, since some can't be beaten, e.g. "Dropblop", where the goal is to reach the highest possible score). The standouts are: - I Demand Coffee (a short, but sweet 2D platformer with a focus on floating and wall-climbing) - Berry Brother (a small metroidvania which centers around switching perspectives, this mechanic being reminiscent of MathanGames' phenomenal, but highly underrated "Side Scape") - Cards with Personalities (a highly addicting card game that can be seen as a taste sampler for the main version, which is sold separately on Steam) - Cheese Knight (perhaps best described as a Kuru Kuru Kururin-like) - Dice…

A collection of games that in the presentation of its main menu very much feels UFO50 inspired. The games offer interesting and often unique twists on known genres or mechanics. Some of those designs work better than others but all are fun to explore. Lots of polish and little details all over. And maybe a secret to discover?

I actually need more of these for my Steam Deck! It is so refreshing to play something that's short (but many), performant and something that had passion in its design. Anyway, if you love to explore fun and clever game mechanics I'd definitely give this a go! My favorite so far is definitely Berry Brother

Great collection of pico-8 games with a polished and mysterious launcher. Favs so far are Fervour and Dice Mice.

I bought this game because I want to see more collections of smaller games on Steam and I think this fit the bill. That being said, how good are the games? Actually pretty decent! The Arcade and platformer games are the strongest of the bunch, while I believe the Puzzle and Strategy games are sorely lacking. The art in all of the games is expressive and does a good job making the games feel unique, even if some are clearly spiritual successors to previous ones. The music is a mixed bag, I'd say half the tracks are great and half of them are meh. My fave games, ranked in order from top to bottom: Oh, High! This hits that "Newgrounds flash game that I'm still addicted to after years away from it" itch pretty effectively, even if the game isn't all that pleasant to look at. Planet Digger This one might rival some of Punkcake Deliceux's games. Very challenging but fair and fun to control once you get the hang of it. Possibly the best game in the entire pack. Dropblop Okay this Puzzle game is the best one. Simple but reflex-heavy. Feels like both Bomberman and an ultra-fast LCD game.
