Chessarama

Verdict: Recommended on discount due to how buggy it is + Positives + + Steam achievements (48, some are quite annoying) + Steam trading cards (3 drop, 5 to make a badge) + Minigames in chess ruleset + Online games + Different cosmetic chess sets + It is original – Negatives – - Technical issues everywhere - Crashes (I had at least 8 crashes) - Infinite loadings (I had that one 3 times) - Runs terribly (lags, crashes, music cuts off ...) - Overstays its welcome - Some levels need to be replayed several times for mutually exclusive challenges

The name and the description oversells the game. You have a board of tiles, and then you have an unit(s) on the board. The units will move in a way that some chess piece would, like horse moves like horse in chess, rook like rook in chess and so on. But that's where the "chess" starts and ends with this game. The actual gameplay and the puzzles are simple like touch every tile one, or move your units to correct spots that then completes a sequence that the puzzle was looking for. The reason I'm not recommending because "Chessarama" has actually nothing to do with chess. I expected chess related puzzles, but what I got was just units that "move like a chess piece" and rest of the game has nothing to do with chess.

fun but animations too long + buggy

There is literally no reason for the animations to take longer than the puzzle itself.

I could find so many QOL improvements in 1 hour that the game seems never tested.

Came for chess, found "plant stuff but move in an L-shape" game.
