Tobla - Divine Path

If you're at all like me, and I know I am, you gotta know the goddess-figure in the game changes her tone over time. But at the outset, all that basic-level sarcasm wore so thin I turned off her voice. At my first hour I had taken pause to write a screed of a review that was all uppercase, fire and fury. I think I even wrote, "Leave me alone, tobla...rone!" Ooooh. Acid burn, me. But yes, I turned off her voice. Her audio was quite good quality; it was clear, well-enunciated, no mic-blasting plosives or anything else. But all the same, off. I don't think you understand how major an event that was for me, I disliked the sarcasm that much. Folks, in fear of tipping my hand about me a little, I've been gaming from before we had any voice samples at all, and [i]any[/i] voice samples was a rare, diskspace-eating treat. I like plots in games. So I listen to every clip, watch every cutscene, because those were so rare in the past they were the magic icing on an otherwise delicious cake. Err, software cake. I just really dislike puzzle games that start out with static logic but then the only difficulty increase is making them time-based where you have to click on things really fast or move across the room in time to click on something really fast. Mostly because then my Mum can't play them.

A fun mix of puzzle solving and exploration of the environment. A lot of similarities to Portal (Putting cubes on pressure plates), but its fun to figure out the puzzle solutions. The world looks pretty nice. The ending was really surprising to me, a completely new level of action compared to the beginning of the game.

Okay puzzle game, didnt like the voice-actor and the puzzles were okay. Good game to waste some time.

cool, VERY SHORT game grabbed it on sale for 1 eur, worth it for that price there are some flaws here and there, only major issue would be not being able to remap controls (which i didn't need) looks and sounds good, level design was at times pretty clever the main downside is the amount of content, it could definitely use more levels with higher difficulty

This is basically in some ways bare bones Portal One which already felt minimalist. I consider that a neutral observation not a criticism. You have a character who shares some similarities with Glados who I must say fits in perfectly with the rest of the Greek pantheon There are elements where the structure is quite similar and both are short games. So it's very noticeable that this has one of the least interesting at least on its face central features of one of these and it is definitely worlds away from teleportation although it's hard to come up with something as mind bending as that anyway. But yeah that might be the one aspect where Mag Runner Dark Pulse actually tops this for me. As others have noted the central mechanic does not particularly evolve but personally I thoroughly enjoyed solving these brain teasers. Through and through this very much did make me feel like I was at the mercy of a God of the ancient Greeks right down to how little regard she has for me as a mortal not even dignifying me with a real name merely calling me Mort.
