Use the invaluable parry system, "GACHI", to catch your monotonous opponent off, and deliver a devastating counter attack! And, use "Heat-Up" to power-up your character for a limited time, whether it is to maximise your damage, or to create openings in your opponent's defense!
Character models are designed in 3D, and blended in to fit the 2D genre for better visual experience. Experience stunning visual effects, without losing that 2D fighting game touch!
Unfold the story of Light and Darkness
12 selectable characters, 24 total scenarios.
Watch the story of each character expands with each battle, and under certain circumstances you might find yourself travelling on an unintended path..?
Unlock alternate costumes for each character as you progress with the story, and eventually that last greyed out icon* in the Character Selection menu might reveal itself!?

Multiple game modes
Hone your skills with the Practice mode, or try aiming for the best record in Survival mode! Or, be the fastest speedrunner in Time Attack mode!

Battle against the world and stake your claim!
Fight against players at the comfort of your home! Players can choose to fight in Ranked Matches, where the wins and losses will be recorded, or they can move to Player Matches and select who to fight.
Players can also create a private match under "Player Match" mode, and invite other players in.

how have I not reviewed this yet? a port of the best fighting game ever. it sorely lacks good netplay and there are some performance issues. still, it's well worth buying and taking time to learn. you'll fall in love with someone and want to share it at your locals. it's a dream.1 found this helpful
Truly a charming and enjoyable fighting game from the "Street Fighter 4" era. "Battle Fantasia Revised Edition" is more grounded like a SF4 than the air dash, high speed, rebellious fighting games Arc System Works was known for at the time. It plays into trying to be more approachable. Not only with its core gameplay, but with the RPG visuals and character designs as well. The Arc System Works devs, hadn't gone overboard with excessive help features and tool assistance yet. The kind that actually cripple the player in the overall genre landscape. Undermining dedicated players by giving other players algorithmic instant gratification shortcuts to compete with them just for existing. Devaluing the overall experience and depth by choosing symbolism over substance. Ultimately revoking legacy skill. Which is the fundamental link and universal thread players use to connect the dots and transfer their skills when bouncing around from one game to another within the genre as a whole. 📬 This title still plays like a fundamentally sound 5 button fighting game. I think this game had a lot of potential, but the online is horrific, the port is terrible in terms of its general support of Windows Functions, and the balance is horrible if you DO manage to play offline.
