Fantasy Strike

Great game! I used to play this on my Nintendo Switch. Then I recently discovered that it is also available here in Steam. Awesome and very easy to learn <3

Not a very good fighting game.

On the surface seems like a decent fighter for new players. Underneath all that is a pretty deep game with emphasis on footsies and whiff punishes. Playing this might improve your fundies,

It’s a simple game, but the developer understands what makes fighting games fun, so all the interactions are polished, and each character has a well-defined fighting style that appeals to a variety of players. No attack is redundant—they all serve a purpose in one way or another (though, like every game, it has balance issues, as you can imagine). The free version offers the essentials for FGC fans, but the free package might not appeal enough to casual fans, though there are still people playing at lower skill levels. I think what makes this game fun is that the characters are well-designed and distinct—even though there are few attacks, matches always find a way to surprise you. One thing I don’t like is that Yomi Counter is performed by taking your hands off the controller or keyboard—for people who play video games, it’s incredibly awkward to make that motion while playing, and it never feels intuitive, even though the rest of the controls are Smash Bros.-style, so… Anyway, it’s not SF3 Third Strike, but it’s a good game and worth playing.
