About Zarya-1: Mystery on the Moon

Zarya - 1 is a survival text based quest with elements of science fiction, horror, and occasional humor. In this game you will be able to alter the story by making choices, creating your very own adventure.

If you liked Alien, Dead Space and Lifeline - you'll love this.

THE STORY.

In 2021 humankind received a distress signal from the far side of the Moon, and immediately sent four brave people to investigate its source. You will be monitoring the astronauts and make decisions that will directly impact the story and the characters. Each choice may lead you closer to - or farther from - the truth.

FEATURES

  • Mind-shattering atmosphere, a mix of sci-fi and horror in the veins of Alien and Prometheus, spiced up with the occasional joke
  • Communicate with the astronauts in real time
  • Influence the story by making your own decisions
  • There are multiple endings, including happy ones :)
  • You can rewind the story and make another choice if the mission ends in a disaster
  • What separates this game from other text quests like Lifeline, are the awesome photos that the team sends your way while exploring the source of the signal

Zarya-1: Mystery on the Moon takes a minimalist approach to science-fiction horror, building its experience almost entirely around communication, uncertainty, and the consequences of giving orders from a safe distance. Developed and published by Your Story Interactive, it casts the player as a mission-control operator overseeing a four-person expedition sent to investigate a mysterious signal originating from the far side of the Moon. Instead of walking across the lunar surface personally, the player communicates with the expedition and decides how its members should respond to increasingly strange discoveries. This indirect perspective gives the story much of its tension because every dangerous situation must be handled without seeing the complete picture. The central mystery begins simply enough, but the expedition gradually becomes more unsettling as the astronauts approach the source of the signal. The Moon is an excellent setting for this type of narrative because its isolation makes even ordinary complications potentially deadly. The crew cannot simply call for immediate rescue when something goes wrong, while the player can offer instructions but cannot physically assist th…

There's a certain something to the atmosphere of the game. The story's not bad. But it's incredibly slow-moving, repetitive and boring to 'play', so I don't recommend it. Basically, you're just watching dialogue run by and making the odd decision - most of which change nothing - then when everyone dies you need to go back and run it all over again until you find the right decision to choose. The correct choices aren't logical in any way, it's just trial and (many) errors...

nice short story game

Zayra-1 is a creative game with a different and immersive style of gameplay. Instead of traditional mechanics, it focuses on conversations with the crew during a space journey, almost like a chat. It deserves to be played not only for this unique approach but also for its engaging storyline. A good game with a good story.

used to play this on mobile 3 years ago now bought a PC version, was too overhyped the game is actually interesting and scary at some points but it actually gets on nerves when you have to go back every time you kill your team and complete all the steps one again + devs abandoned this project u cant even see mistake you made, thats what turns me off from zarya 1 tho i recommend it
